Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 29

Chapter 29 (Jayfeather's point of view - Final Chapter)

Jayfeather heard his brother exit the medicine den and decided to go see Firestar immediately. It would take a seeing cat long enough to get to the Moonpool, but to a blind one with no other medicine cats to guide him, it would be quite a journey. Jayfeather pushed the herbs back into the cleft and padded out of his den.
The camp was still very busy cleaning up the camp after the birch tree had fallen. Jayfeather had just begun to build up images of what the camp looked like now, but because he had just begun, he still had trouble navigating. Luckily the leader's den came nowhere near the birch.
Jayfeather clawed his way up the rockfall and stood on Highledge for a moment. From here he could feel the wind in his fur and sense the warriors working on moving sticks out of the camp. Snap yourself out of it, mouse-brain! He scolded himself. This isn't what you came for. He entered the den.
"Firestar,"
Firestar was grooming himself - Jayfeather could hear him licking his coat. "What can I do for you, Jayfeather?"
"I need to go to the Moonpool tonight to talk with StarClan. I'd have to leave right away, but Brightheart could be in charge of the medicine den - she's done it before." Jayfeather begged StarClan that he would say yes.
"If you think it is very necessary to do so." Firestar said.
Jayfeather nodded. "It is. I think StarClan has something important to tell me."
Firestar sighed. "If it's so important, why can't they send a dream or wait until the halfmoon. It's only a few sunhighs away. Very well, you may go."
"Thank you." Jayfeather dipped his head to the ThunderClan leader and backed out of the den, careful to turn around before he backed off Highledge.

He could hear the trickle of the Moonpool close by and could feel his paws slipping into the pawprints of the ancient Clans that had lived by the lake so long ago.
Welcome, Jayfeather.
We're glad you came, Jayfeather.
We have to talk with you, Jayfeather.
The many voices of StarClan cats came to him on a light breeze. Jayfeather stepped down to the water and lapped at it. Within moments, he was dreaming.
Green ferns grew far above his head and trees towered into the sky, high as the mountains. "Spottedleaf?" he called into the forest. "Yellowfang? Bluestar?" In the distance, he could hear cats talking and headed toward it. Suddenly from the bushes behind him burst a lithe black and white cat. "Tallstar! Where is everyone?"
Tallstar passed him and bounded into the ferns. "They're at the meeting, Jayfeather! Follow me!"
Jayfeather raced after Tallstar and soon caught up with his tail. He followed the old WindClan leader until they reached a small river that cut through StarClan's hunting grounds.
"Sorry I'm late," Tallstar panted. "But I brought the subject of this meeting with me."
Jayfeather looked around at the StarClan cats: Bluestar, Yellowfang, Tallstar, Spottedleaf, Lionheart, Leopardstar, Mudfur, and four cats he didn't recognize were gathered by the river. Spottedleaf stepped forward.
"Jayfeather, we gathered together because we have to talk to you about the great battle. These four cats are Thunderstar, Windstar, Riverstar, and Shadowstar."
The first leaders of the four Clans!
"As the first leaders of the Clans, they play a very important role in helping keep this battle under control as best as StarClan can. Bluestar?" Spottedleaf stepped back into the cats.
Bluestar came forward. "There is something I have to tell you, Jayfeather, and it may frighten you." she rasped.
"When the battle comes, you Three will stand alone."

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 28

Chapter 28 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze sat around camp gloomily. He saw Jayfeather in his den sorting herbs and waited a while before getting up and slowly padding into the medicine den.
"I had a dream..." he said slowly.
Jayfeather didn't turn around, but stopped sorting and waited for Lionblaze to continue.
"The Dark Forest-" Lionblaze started and paused when Jayfeather's head jolted up and he turned to face Lionblaze.
"Uh-there was an army...and mist. Tigerstar, Breezepelt, and Hawkfrost were leading the attack against the living clans, but we- you, Dovepaw and I- were the only ones against them...I think it means that there will be a great battle that only the Three (that would be us) could win..."
"This is not good...Dovepaw thinks that Ivypaw is a part of the Dark Forest. It just keeps getting worse and worse." Jayfeather said quietly.
Lionblaze sighed, "I know. Do you think you could go to the Moonpool and talk to StarClan about it?"
Jayfeather nodded,"I'll tell Firestar that I will be leaving soon." He went back to sorting herbs.
Lionblaze nodded then turned and left. He went to the fresh-kill pile and looked at it. "I'll eat after I train." He mumbled to himself and went to the training hollow.
He trained for quite a while, using different battle moves to attack a tree and creep up on it. When he was done he went back to the pile and picked up a vole. A pit in his stomach opened when he spotted Ivypaw practicing battle moves with Cherrykit and Molekit: they were the same that Tigerstar had tried to teach him. What will happen when the battle comes?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 27

Chapter 27 (Jayfeather's point of view)

In the dark and gloomy world that was his home, Jayfeather tried to make sense of the tumble of words pouring from Dovepaw's mouth.
"And then I heard him speaking in his sleep-" the apprentice said in a rush as she completed her story. "-he was saying "Kill! Kill! Kill!""
Jayfeather felt his fur stand on end. "StarClan let us hear him for a reason." He said, and desperately tried to oppress the fear that was building in the pit of his belly. "Breezepelt must want to kill us. He was always-" Jayfeather paused. Dovepaw had never been told, but it had to be done. "-angry with us for being born. His father is ours, too."
Waves and waves of uncertain thought drained from Dovepaw as though Jayfeather had opened a pus-filled sore. He felt the waves drowning him in emotion.
"But why would Breezepelt want to kill you just because you've been born?" Dovepaw asked cautiously.
"He hates us." was the simple answer. Jayfeather felt weak. This was a sensitive subject for him to touch on. I have a feeling that Breezepelt is the center of all this. The medicine cat thought. "Do you know anything else?" He changed the subject.
"No." Dovepaw said. "That's all I found out."
Jayfeather sensed she was hiding something. "What are you hiding?" He asked.
Fear was pouring like blood from an open wound from Dovepaw. Jayfeather wrinkled his nose. To him, fear had a bad smell. "I-I think Ivypaw is part of... the Dark Forest."
"She has been acting strangely." Jayfeather said calmly, trying to keep his alarm under control. I should have realized it myself! He scolded himself. Dovepaw shouldn't have had to discover her sister's secret herself! "I know how you feel."
"Really?" Dovepaw's voice cracked with pain.
Jayfeather nodded. "Yes." He sensed that Dovepaw wanted him to further elaborate on the subject, but he didn't want to. When Dovepaw realized that, she said goodbye and left the medicine den. Jayfeather began storing the dried herbs in the cleft of the rock. His mind churned with worry. What are we supposed to do to defeat the Dark Forest? He wondered. What will Breezepelt try to do to us?
And what does the prophecy mean?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 26

Chapter 26 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Jayfeather echoed the name. "Breezepelt?" Dovepaw nodded.
"That's the only possible interpretation. He is your brother, isn't he?" Her tail swished over the ground in fear. What are we supposed to do now? We know more about the cats the Dark Forest is recruiting, but we have to do something about it!
"Half-brother." Jayfeather answered.
Dovepaw shrugged. "Close enough." She suddenly remembered she had been neglecting Ivypaw. "Can you walk in Ivypaw's dreams tonight? I think it's important."
Jayfeather shook his head. "You're forgetting - tonight's the Gathering. Your powers are needed to search for cats that are acting strangely at their camps. Can you try now? Go to WindClan."
"Very well," Dovepaw said. "I'll try." She sensed her way past the guards in ThunderClan and headed directly for WindClan. In the warm spring sunshine, the heather blossomed into lovely blue flowers and Dovepaw spotted two WindClan apprentices scampering about in the grass. She felt a twinge of sadness. I wish I could play as carefree as that. She arrived soon at WindClan's camp and looked for Breezepelt. He was asleep in the warriors' den. She looked through the opening and stared at him, but he was sleeping like any normal warrior would.
Dovepaw let go of her senses and came back to ThunderClan. "He's sleeping like a normal warrior - nothing unusual." She watched the medicine cat pace around the den for a moment before fixing his sharp blue eyes on her.
"Keep checking every few hours," Jayfeather continued. "I requested that you be let off from training today, so you'll have plenty of time to keep an eye on WindClan and the others."
"Okay." Dovepaw left the medicine den and headed for the exit tunnel. She was going out to the lake on this beautiful newleaf day.
Suddenly Dovepaw heard a voice behind her. "Hi, Dovepaw."
It was Ivypaw. Dovepaw froze. There was a strange sound in her voice. Dovepaw turned around.
"Hi, Ivypaw." Dovepaw flicked her tail.
"Can I come with you?" Ivypaw asked. "Please?"
Dovepaw shrugged. "Sure, if you want to. I'm just going down to the lake." She resumed her course for the exit tunnel. "Come on!" Dovepaw raced toward the tunnel, and she heard Ivypaw's paws thrumming on the ground just behind her.
Shooting out the other end of the tunnel, Dovepaw exploded into the forest, spraying leaves everywhere. Ivypaw caught up with her quickly and threatened to overtake her sister, but Dovepaw whisked through the trees faster and reached the lake first.
"Let's climb into the trees," Ivypaw said. "And wait for some cat to come under us. Then we can jump onto them, just like Firestar wants us to do!" Her eyes sparkled mischeviously.
"That sounds like fun!" Dovepaw giggled. "You go up first, and I'll be up in a second."
Ivypaw sprang up the tree's trunk. "Okay." Dovepaw watched her spring up the tree, finally stopping on a high branch.
Dovepaw focused her senses on WindClan and headed toward the camp to check on Breezepelt. He's still sleeping, the dormouse. Dovepaw thought. But I hear something... he's speaking! Dovepaw felt horror fill her mind as she heard his words.
"Kill! Kill! Kill!"

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 25

Chapter 25 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze wondered why Jayfeather had asked for Dovepaw to have the day off.
Jayfeather wouldn't tell him why, he said that he had to discuss it with Dovepaw first.
Dovepaw wasn't even in camp!
Lionblaze felt so left out of the Three. Jayfeather and Dovepaw seemed to be getting so much closer, and Lionblaze seemed to get so much further away. There were times that he got so annoyed by that, that he just wanted to unleash all over his power on Jayfeather, but he knew he could never do that and that he was being foolish.
He wondered through the forest, feeling sorry for himself, when something large dropped out of the trees and landed on his back.
By instinct he unsheathed his claws and flung the attacked off, giving the cat a small cut on its shoulder.
"Oh, sorry Cinderheart!" Lionblaze said, after realizing who it was.
"It's okay, at least we know that you are prepared for a surprise attack," She licked her shoulder, "And I know that I shouldn't try to surprise you, because if I do, I may end up with a worse cut then just this."
"Sorry again!" Lionblaze meowed.
"That's okay Lionblaze, really." Cinderheart smiled.
Lionblaze smiled, then shifted his paw, "So what are you doing out here?"
"Spying on you." Cinderheart shrugged and smiled.
"Ah. Maybe I should spy on you then, see what you do when nobody's watching. Maybe you steal prey." Lionblaze said, jokingly, but accusingly.
"I can't believe you'd even THINK or JOKE that I'd do that!" Cinderheart glared, obviously not liking the joke.
Lionblaze watched her storm off and he sighed, hanging his head he watched a mouse dart in front of him.
He just watched it go, to sad to move.
I've lost my apprentice, my brother, and my best friend. He sighed.
He slumped down and closed his eyes.
In his dream he saw Tigerstar's face, circling around. There was a big evil smile on his face, like he had something big planned, that he was sure wouldn't fail.
He saw Breezepelt and Hawkfrost by Tigerstar's side, leading what looked like an army of Dark Forest cats.
In his dream he looked up at the sky, it was stormy, cloudy, dark, and windy.
Dovepaw and Jayfeather looked like they knew something about what was happening. Something that Lionblaze didn't know.

Lionblaze woke with a start.
What was that! He asked himself.
Lionblaze shook his head, It was just a dream, I mean only Medicine Cats get dreams about things that will be, they get prophecies…But this wasn’t a prophecy…it was just what will happen later. Breezepelt was there…that’s really bad. Should I tell anyone…or keep it to myself. I’d tell Cinderheart but she’s mad at me. I can’t tell Jayfeather or Dovepaw because I’m mad at them…If I told Firestar, he’d tell everyone…but he’s my leader…I need to tell him!
Lionblaze got up and ran back to camp.
“Firestar! I need to talk to you!” Lionblaze found Firestar.
“Yes Lionblaze, what is it?” Firestar asked.
Lionblaze kept his voice down and said, “I had a dream, Tigerstar, Breezepelt, and Hawkfrost were leading an army…it was dark, windy, and stormy…I think the army was going against us…there were no StarClan cat’s, but there were living cats…except I only saw Dovepaw and Jayfeather, and I was there….”
“This is bad. Oh no, this is really bad.” Firestar went into panic mode, “Have you told Jayfeather or Dovepaw yet?”
Lionblaze shifted his paws, “I-I wasn’t going to tell them…”
Firestar looked at him for a while, but said nothing, just turned and went to his den.
Lionblaze looked up at the sky, WHY?! He wailed.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 24

Chapter 24 (Dovepaw's point of view)

"Hello, Dovepaw." Hollyleaf's voice echoed through the cave. Her long black fur rustled against the rocky floor.
Dovepaw blinked. She wasn't dreaming, as Hollyleaf's figure stayed before her eyes. "Hollyleaf-" What can I say? "You're... alive." The gray apprentice turned to face Rock. "Does Jayfeather know?"
Hollyleaf cut in before Rock could answer. "Are you surprised, Dovepaw? To see me alive?" Dovepaw turned back toward Hollyleaf.
"No."
"Why not?"
"All along I have known you were here, still alive." Dovepaw felt strange - like another cat, not herself - like she wasn't there. Do I become Dove's Wing whenever I step into this cave?
"How?" Hollyleaf's green eyes were curious. "You've only been here twice."
Dovepaw stepped toward the black she-cat. "I have always sensed your presence beneath the ground we walk on, and it was especially strong the first time I came near the entrance to the cave through the rabbit hole." She caught her breath.
Hollyleaf dipped her head to Dovepaw. "Truly you are One of the Three, young Dovepaw. Your wisdom is beyond your moons. Truly you are the One - the One we've all been waiting for."
Dovepaw looked up through the hole in the cave roof, and saw three stars shining brighter than all the rest.
They were the Three.

The next morning, Dovepaw sensed her way around the camp and found that Jayfeather was requesting her off training for the day. She padded out of her den and trotted over to Jayfeather's den.
"I was about to come get you, Dovepaw." Jayfeather's voice from behind startled Dovepaw. "We need to talk in my den. Come on."
Jayfeather padded past Dovepaw and she followed him in.
"What's the matter?" Dovepaw asked. Jayfeather sat down and began to mix herbs. She could sense that he was frightened. Far from the fiery cat of last night.
Jayfeather grunted. "I had a dream last night, after I came back to camp."
Dovepaw shrugged. "That's not too uncommon, for a medicine cat."
Jayfeather turned on her sharply. "Be quiet!" He turned back to mixing herbs.
"What was the dream?"
"I was walking through the forest, and it was a warm greenleaf day. As I walked, I saw several cats from the old Clan home - Yellowfang, Lionheart, Bluestar, Tallstar, and Redtail. They were sitting under a oak tree talking. I stopped walking and looked through the trees to the lake, and over WindClan's hills I suddenly saw a dark storm begin to flow over the Clan territories - they were the darkest clouds I had ever seen. The StarClan cats began to vanish, but before Lionheart disappeared, he whispered, Darkness will come on the wind, and rumble like the storm clouds. Beware, Jayfeather. Beware of an enemy that is like a brother."
Dovepaw felt a giant pit of black open in her stomach. "Breezepelt."

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 23

Chapter 23 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Dovepaw raced alongside Jayfeather, following him deeper and deeper into the woods. "I think we're far enough from the camp now," she said. "I don't even recognize this place." It was dark and spooky, and whispers seemed to be coming from every direction.
"Cast your senses out and see if anyone's about." Jayfeather ordered. "You know how Firestar likes to nighthunt sometimes."
Focusing hard, Dovepaw searched the forest all the way down to the lake. "No. No cat is around but us."
Jayfeather nodded. "Good." He leaned in to her face. "Because what I have to tell you can never be told again, or to anyone. Understand?"
Dovepaw nodded, but realized Jayfeather wouldn't be able to see her. "Yes. I understand."
"I sent Spottedleaf."
"What!" Dovepaw leaped to her paws. "StarClan is StarClan. You can't send them anywhere!"
Jayfeather narrowed his eyes and a fire lit in them. "I have powers you could never begin to understand." The fire dimmed. "I hardly understand them myself."
Dovepaw was curious. "Can't you tell me more about you're powers?" Please! Her tail-tip twitched in anticipation.
"I suppose." Jayfeather sighed heavily. "I can walk in cats' dreams. I can talk to them in dreams, like StarClan can talk in dreams. I can go to StarClan, even when I'm not at the Moonpool. I can sense small things, and my sense of smell and hearing are above average, like you. And I can read their thoughts."
"Amazing." Dovepaw was in awe.
Jayfeather stood. "Let's go back to camp. And remember, don't tell anyone about this."
Dovepaw nodded. "I won't tell." She suddenly thought of her promise to Fallen Leaves. "You go on ahead - I'll catch up later."
"Okay!" Jayfeather sped up and bounded through the forest like a seeing cat.
Suddenly Dovepaw felt that wasn't such a good idea. This part of the forest was giving her the creeps, and her stomach was turning over. It'll be safe in the tunnels. she thought. The entrance should be right around here. She poked around under the bushes until she saw the rabbit hole. Before entering, she cast her senses out, to be sure no one was watching her. Once the coast was clear, Dovepaw slipped into the rabbit hole and found herself standing in the giant cave within a matter of moments.
"You've come back, young Dove's Wing." Fallen Leaves greeted her. "I have not seen you in some time."
Dovepaw shrugged. "Training's kept me pretty busy."
Rock's voice sounded. "There's someone I want you to meet." Dovepaw looked over at his ledge. The hairless creature was standing on the ledge, his gray eyes glowing in the moonlight. "Dove's Wing, meet Hollyleaf."

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 22

Chapter 22 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Dovepaw moaned as she turned over in her nest in the medicine cat den. The gash she had received from the battle with Tigerstar several sunrises ago wasn't healing, although Jayfeather was doing everything in his power to save her. Blood began to seep from the wound once again and Dovepaw reached for her cobweb compress. Suddenly she heard Briarlight begin coughing.
"Jayfea-" Dovepaw called to her sleeping Clanmate but saw he was beside her already, coughing in time with her. Is he mad? What's he doing? She felt as though it was something important, however, and made no move toward them. She pressed the cobweb to her gash and watched as it slowly soaked up the blood. After the wound was clean, Dovepaw laid her head back down on her mossy nest and fell asleep.

When Dovepaw opened her eyes, she saw a tortoiseshell cat standing above her. "Sorreltail?" she asked, her eyes flashing in the light of the quarter moon. "Is something wrong?"
"I'm not Sorreltail." the tortoiseshell said sweetly. "I'm Spottedleaf, a medicine cat from ThunderClan's old days in the forest. I've come to heal you." As Spottedleaf spoke, she slowly lowered her head down to Dovepaw's gash and began to nose the wound softly. Instead of feeling pain, Dovepaw felt warmth, and saw that the wound was healing before her very eyes.
"Th-Thank you." Dovepaw said. Spottedleaf nodded and vanished into the mist. "Jayfeather?" she called quietly, making sure not to wake Briarlight. "Jayfeather!"
Jayfeather padded out from his den in the rock crack.
"Dovepaw?"
"Something just happened." Dovepaw replied. She sensed Jayfeather's fur stand on end.
"What? What just happened?"
"Spottedleaf came and healed my gash."
"What!" Jayfeather came forward and sniffed at Dovepaw's wound. "It's healed." His blue eyes became serious. "Never tell any cat what just happened."
Dovepaw cocked her head. "Not even Lionblaze?"
Jayfeather didn't answer. "We need to talk. In the woods." He dashed out of the den and toward the dirtplace tunnel.
"Ew!" Dovepaw felt her belly squirm.
"Quiet!" Jayfeather hissed.
What's going on? Dovepaw's mind raced as she followed Jayfeather into the woods.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 21

Chapter 21

Lionblaze went up to Jayfeather and asked him what happened.
"Briarlight is coughing again. Very badly."
"Really?" Lionblaze asked.
"Yes." Jayfeather said and then flicked his tail to say that they should go out of the den.
Lionblaze followed Jayfeather out and then Jayfeather asked, "So what happened to Dovepaw?"
"We were at the ShadowClan border and we saw Tigerheart; he was talking to himself, and then out of nowhere Tigerstar came and attacked us. We had Bluestar and Redtail to help us, though. Dovepaw got pretty scratched up!" Lionblaze meowed.
"Really?!" Jayfeather hissed, "We have to tell Firestar!"
"I know, but I wanted to tell you first." Lionblaze said.
"Well, you should tell him now." Jayfeather said sternly.
"I don't want Dovepaw to hate me though." Lionblaze meowed hesitantly.
"Hate you? Why?" Jayfeather asked.
"Because Tigerheart's her friend..." Lionblaze meowed.
"Tigerheart's a traitor!" Jayfeather hissed.
"I guess you're right...Okay."
Lionblaze padded slowly over to Firestar's den. He stopped hesitantly out side the den before going in.
When he entered Firestar said, "Ah, I was expecting you, now tell me what happened."
Lionblaze licked his dry lips and swallowed hard. He said,"We were by ShadowClan border when we, uh, we heard Tigerheart talking to himself. He said that he had done what Tigerstar had told him. He had convinced Blackstar to start that fight. Then Tigerstar came and we fought him. That's how we got the scratches." Lionblaze took a deep breath. Would Firestar believe him? He had to!
"I will most definately talk to Blackstar about that!" Firestar growled angrily.
"Uh, well."Lionblaze started.
"Well what?" Firestar asked, still mad.
"Uh-nevermind." Lionblaze said.
"Okay. You are dismissed...But wait, why were you at ShadowClan border at all?" Firestar asked.
"Because Dovepaw told me to." Lionblaze said and then walked out.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 20

Chapter 20 (Jayfeather's point of view)

"Briarlight's coughing again!" Daisy's paw prodded Jayfeather urgently in his side. He sprang to his paws and dashed out of the medicine den, toward the nursery.
"Are you okay, Briarlight?" squeaked Cherrykit. "What's wrong?"
Briarlight couldn't respond; her body was racked with coughs. Jayfeather pressed his nose to her fur. Still no fever, he concluded. She doesn't have whitecough. Oh StarClan, help me!
Millie's anxious scent flooded the nursery. "Do something, Jayfeather!" she cried.
Jayfeather thought quickly. What should I do? "We need to move her to the medicine den with Dovepaw, where I can be near her. Don't carry her," He said sharply. "To help clear her lungs, she has to do it herself." He scented Firestar. The ThunderClan leader was racing across the clearing and stopped just outside the nursery, where Briarlight was beginning to crawl toward the medicine cat's den.
"Is Briarlight coughing again?" Firestar's anxious voice caught Jayfeather by surprise. The silver tabby nodded as Firestar led him away from the others. "You can save her, Jayfeather. You're the only cat who can save her."
Jayfeather shrugged. "I'll try my best." he said simply, and padded away.

"Shouldn't you give her poppy seeds or something?" Millie asked franticly, her scent constantly moving as she paced around her kit. Jayfeather's patience was at an end; Millie had refused to leave after Briarlight had reached the den.
Jayfeather shook his head. "It could stop her breathing." He sensed that dawn was beginning to break. "Go back to your den and rest. I'll keep an eye on Briarlight, I promise."
Millie stopped pacing. "You will?"
"Yes."
The warrior left the den and Jayfeather tracked her scent across the clearing and into the warriors' den.
Finally! Jayfeather thought. Now I can save her. The young warrior was asleep now, but coughs still racked her body every so often.
Dovepaw stirred in the nest beside Briarlight and started talking in her sleep, startling Jayfeather. "I'm going to get you." she murmured quietly, making the medicine cat jump. "There! I got you, you sneaky little mouse."
Jayfeather's fur laid flat again - she was only hunting. He settled down beside Briarlight, matched his breathing with hers, and drifted off to sleep.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 19

Chapter 19 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze panted and turned to Dovepaw. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine, thanks." Dovepaw also panted.
"Tigerstar is a horrible cat." Lionblaze hissed.
"I hate him," Dovepaw meowed, "He scratched me."
"Let me see." Lionblaze ordered.
"No, it's okay." Dovepaw said and jumped back a bit.
"Dovepaw let me see!" Lionblaze growled.
Dovepaw reluctantly let him see her cut under her belly. She was bleeding a lot, and it looked pretty bad.
Why hadn't I seen that before? Lionblaze asked himslef. "Why didn't you tell me!"
"Because it's not too bad." Dovepaw mumbled.
"Look at yourself!" Lionblaze exclaimed, "Come on, we are going to Jayfeather."
Dovepaw followed Lionblaze back to camp. Lionblaze could sense that she was weary.
"Jayfeather!!" Lionblaze called when they got into camp.
Jayfeather emerged from his den. Dovepaw and Lionblaze walked up to him.
"Dovepaw got hurt." Lionblaze said, and with his tail he indicated to Dovepaw to show Jayfeather.
Dovepaw showed Jayfeather her belly. Jayfeather could smell the blood and said, "Smells bad. Come inside."
Dovepaw followed.
"How did this happen?" Jayfeather asked.
Lionblaze left Dovepaw to tell the story while he got her some fresh kill.
"Lionblaze what happened?" Firestar asked as Lionblaze carried back the prey.
"I'll tell you later; first I have to deliver this vole to Dovepaw."
Firestar nodded and Lionblaze took the prey back to Dovepaw. He set the vole down in front of her as she was telling Jayfeather her story. Jayfeather had her lying down and was pressing cobwebs on her to stop the bleeding.
"Will she be okay?" Lionblaze asked Jayfeather.
Jayfeather grunted. "I think she will, but that's a pretty bad gash. We'll just have to wait and see."

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 18

Chapter 18 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Beside her, Dovepaw felt Lionblaze's golden fur stand on end. "Tigerheart!" she hissed, careful to be as quiet as possible.
"I did as you said, Tigerstar. I hope it pleases you." Tigerheart continued.
Is someone watching us? Dovepaw wondered. She felt as though evil eyes were watching their every move from the trees. She cast her senses out to feel for Tigerstar, but she couldn't see anything unusual. Tigerheart was sniffing at some of ThunderClan's bushes, careful not to rub his scent against it.
"Let's go drive him out!" Dovepaw spat at her mentor. Lionblaze nodded.
"Yes, come on." He lunged out of the prickle bush and out into the clearing where Tigerheart was.
Tigerheart laid his ears back against his head. "I-I'm sorry, Lionblaze. I didn't know I had crossed into ThunderClan territory. I'll leave now." He turned to leave, but Lionblaze caught his tail and dragged him back.
"We've got something to say before you leave, Tigerheart." Dovepaw growled. Lionblaze released the tabby warrior's tail and stepped back beside his apprentice.
"Don't trust Tigerstar, Tigerheart," Lionblaze said. He leaned forward into the young warrior's face. "He's wily and cunning, and evil."
Tigerheart seemed confused. "I don't know. I'll think about it." He padded away onto his own territory, his tail dragging against the grass.
Suddenly Dovepaw felt something strong crash into her. She fought for air as the strange-smelling cat crushed her beneath his massive weight.
"Tigerstar!" Lionblaze yowled and lunged onto the cat. Dovepaw felt air rush into her lungs once again as her mentor lifted the evil tom off her and swung him into the air, held by his scruff. But Tigerstar managed to wriggle free of Lionblaze's powerful grip and twisted around to leap on the golden pelt of her mentor.
Then Dovepaw saw two more unknown cats rush into the clearing. Oh StarClan, help us! But suddenly she realized who they were. Bluestar! Redtail!
"Get out, my evil deputy! You never deserved to be called a warrior." Bluestar, howling a battle cry, lunged onto Tigerstar and rolled away with him battering at her belly. Lionblaze leaped to his paws and dodged a blow from the brown tabby warrior. Dovepaw quickly jumped in to help fight and raked at Tigerstar's muzzle as Redtail bit down on his tail. Tigerstar yowled in pain and twisted around agilely to claw at Redtail's ears. But Redtail managed to leap away just in time for Lionblaze to leap on the cat and pin him to the ground.
Redtail leaned forward into Tigerstar's face and hissed, "Get out, rogue! But when you return, we'll be waiting."
All three cats faded away into the breeze.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 17

Chapter 17 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze heard all of the commotion but didn't go near Millie. When he saw Jayfeather exiting the nursery he ran up to him and asked, "What was that all about?"
"Briarlight has a pretty bad cough.I think it may be whitecough, but she doesn't smell like it." Jayfeather explained.
"Oh. I see." Lionblaze replied.
"Yes, well I have to go sort juniper berries." Jayfeather sighed.
Lionblaze left Jayfeather to sort his juniper berries. Right when he was about to sit down and eat a mouse that he had gotten from the fresh kill pile, which was a bit cold, Dovepaw came racing in like a maniac and crashed into him.
"Dovepaw-!" Lionblaze started.
"Shh! Just follow me!" Dovepaw hissed, then without waiting turned and ran into the forest.
Lionblaze sat there for a second, then ran off to follow Dovepaw. It didn't take long for him to catch up with her, but when he did he was a bit out of breath.
"Dovepaw, what is this all about?" Lionblaze puffed.
"Shh! I don't know!" Dovepaw growled.
"YOU DON'T KNOW?!" Lionblaze almost yowled.
"Lionblaze! I told you to shut it!" Dovepaw snapped.
"And since when were you the boss of me?" Lionblaze snapped back.
"Just shut it, okay?" Dovepaw ordered.
"What ever this is, it had better be good, or you just earned yourself a full day, no breaks of battle training, then hunting." Lionblaze growled.
"Shut UP!" Dovepaw said in an annoyed tone. Why are we heading towards the ShadowClan border? I told her to spy, not WITH me, though. Lionblaze thought to himself.
"Why-" Lionblaze started again.
"SHHH!" Dovepaw hissed.
Lionblaze stayed quiet, and they ran through the forest sliently, careful not to make a sound. When the could smell a strong whiff of ShadowClan they slowed down into a fast walk.
"What-"
Dovepaw gave Lionblaze a look that said shut up, you are really annoying me now.
Lionblaze rolled his eyes but went along with it.
They went closer to the border and heard a cat say,"Okay Tigerstar. I did what you told me to. I told Blackstar to have war on ThunderClan. But you said I'd feel victorious. You said that it would be great. But I don't feel so good. ThunderClan warriors are hurt and so are ShadowClan. Nothing gained, nothing lost."
Lionblaze saw Dovepaw's ears perk up when she heard the voice talk. Lionblaze, too, knew exactly who was talking was.
Tigerheart.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 16

Chapter 16 (Jayfeather's point of view)

Jayfeather sat quietly in his den, munching on a tasty mouse. He chewed slowly, his head in the past, wondering if he would ever find Rock's stick again. He missed being able to go to it when he needed to think. Suddenly, the den was alive with terror.
"Jayfeather!" Millie called franticly. "Jayfeather!" Jayfeather leaped to his paws, the mouse forgotten. Billows of terror from Millie came crashing over the blind medicine cat, almost knocking him on his belly.
"What is it, Millie?" Jayfeather fought to stay calm. He probed at her thoughts. Briarlight.
Millie took a deep breath of air. "Briarlight is coughing terribly!" she wheezed.
Jayfeather pounded out of the den and into the chilly sunhigh air. He made his way straight to the warriors' den, where a wave of coughing greeted him. Briarlight was coughing. "Move her right to the nursery - it's warmer. I don't want the cough to turn into whitecough or greencough. Is there a hunting patrol out?" he asked.
Millie's fright turned into rage. "This is no time to worry about fresh-kill!" she snapped. "What about my kit?"
Jayfeather fought to keep Millie calm. "I need it to keep Briarlight warm," he responded carefully. "Now, please, take her to the nursery." Millie's anger subsided and Jayfeather heard her help Briarlight to the nursery. He followed them there, and Briarlight collapsed in an empty nest. "Millie, lie next to Briarlight to warm her. Briarlight, can you try yowling? It will help clear your chest and hopefully stop the coughing, but I don't know if that's what it is - it might be whitecough. Ferncloud, go out and wait for the hunting patrol to return. When they do, take all their fresh-kill and bring it straight here. And don't let any cat stop you."
Ferncloud hurried out of the den.
For several minutes Briarlight howled, and Jayfeather kept his ears pricked toward the clearing. He heard Graystripe's voice as the hunting patrol returned.
"Just tell us what you need it for, Ferncloud, and we'll be glad to give it to you." Graystripe was saying. Jayfeather raced out of the den and grabbed Blossomfall's still warm pheasant.
"Give me that!" he growled at Blossomfall, his teeth gripped firmly in the feathery bird. "It's for your sister!" Blossomfall dropped the pheasant, and Jayfeather took it back to the nursery and put it beside Briarlight. Blossomfall and Bumblestripe came in promptly.
"Bring me all the rest of the warm fresh-kill," Jayfeather said quickly. The two cats bounded away. "And nothing cold!" he yowled after them. A few minutes later they returned, mouths filled with prey, and Jayfeather arranged it neatly around Briarlight. "You can stop yowling now, Briarlight," Jayfeather said. "Just rest in here for a while, and I'll be back later to check on you." He touched his tail-tip to Millie's shoulder and let her out of the nursery.
"Jayfeather-" she began, but the medicine cat silenced her.
"I don't know what it is," he said. "Her chest coughing didn't sound like this, but she doesn't smell like whitecough. I need you to stay up with her tonight. Blossomfall and Bumblestripe, too, if they want to. Just don't lick her. If you do, when her fur dries it will only cool her, and that is a sure invitation for greencough, especially in leaf-bare. If anything happens or goes wrong, come get me right away." He left Millie in front of the nursery and headed back to his den to sort juniper berries.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 15

Chapter 15 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Dovepaw sighed as she and Lionblaze padded through the thorn tunnel and back into camp. I wish I didn't have to spy on ShadowClan, even if they are proud. I don't like the idea of spying, but I've got to protect my Clan! Oh, StarClan! Please send me a sign!
"Lionblaze," she said quietly. Her mentor turned from the path to the fresh-kill pile, his ears pricked. "Can I go out to the lake? I need time to think." Lionblaze nodded. He understood.
"Sometimes it's like that after a battle." The golden warrior said.
Dovepaw turned and padded out of the camp, toward the lake. She scented the air, letting her extra-sensitive senses find any hint of newleaf on the breeze. It's coming, Dovepaw thought, her paws now whisking over the dead leaves. Newleaf will be here in just a few sunrises. Her paws raced faster over the ground as she imagined the fresh-kill pile full once again and the forest teeming with mice, squirrels, birds, and voles.

Once the gray apprentice reached the lake, she sat down near the edge and stared out over the mass of blue-gray water. It lapped slowly at her paws, wetting the tips of them. She scooted back a whisker-length to avoid the cold water. She looked up at the sky. The sun shone harshly in the blue sky, casting out light but not warmth as it reached sunhigh. The sky was clear, without a cloud showing from either horizon. Suddenly, as Dovepaw watched a sparrow fly about, she saw a cloud form quickly. It was in the shape of a cat's head, and for some strange reason, the cloud looked a bluish color. And, to Dovepaw's great surprise and horror, the cloud-cat spoke.
"Dovepaw, it's okay for you to spy," it said. "I am Bluestar, formerly of ThunderClan and now of StarClan. Get Lionblaze as fast as you can run. Go to the ShadowClan border." Before Dovepaw realized what was happening, the cloud was gone - but the echoes of Bluestar still rang in her head. "Go to the border, Dovepaw. And don't be afraid to use your powers."
With the murmurs of the StarClan cat in her head, Dovepaw shot off toward the ThunderClan camp to tell Lionblaze.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 14

Chapter 14 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

At the camp Lionblaze and Jayfeather pondered on what could have triggered ShadowClan to attack, especially so soon after the other battle. "What do you think?" Lionblaze asked Jayfeather once again.
"I told you I don't know!" Jayfeather growled.
"What if we got Dovepaw to see what's going on in ShadowClan?" Lionblaze suggested.
"You mean make her spy for us?" Jayfeather asked.
"Well, technically yes, but it'll be for the good of the Clan." Lionblaze said.
"Okay, you ask her!" Jayfeather said. "After all, you're her mentor!"
Lionblaze looked around for Dovepaw and found her eating a mouse alone by the freshkill pile. Lionblaze padded up to her and flicked his tail indicating that he wanted to speak with her. Dovepaw followed, with her mouse in her jaw, into the forest where no ears could be listening in. "I don't know why the battle happened, if that's what you want to know." Dovepaw said, not meanly, just to point it out.
"I wasn't going to ask you that, but it's something that relates to that. Jayfeather and I need a favor from you." Lionblaze said cautiously, trying to form it best so she didn't get offended by the idea of spying.
"Go on." Dovepaw meowed, taking another bite out of her mouse.
"We want to know why the battle started, so we need someone who can find that out..."
Dovepaw leapt up and growled at Lionblaze, "You want me to spy? Is that all I am? A tool to you?"
"No it's not that, Dovepaw!" Lionblaze called after Dovepaw, who whirled around and raced away. He ran after the gray apprentice and tackled her easily.
"Please do this. It's for the good of ThunderClan!" He pleaded, holding her down against the leaf mold.
He could tell Dovepaw was thinking really hard. He heard her sigh. "Okay, fine."
"Thank you so much!" Lionblaze said joyfully. "I can't wait to tell Jayfeather!"
He and Dovepaw walked slowly back to the camp, discussing how she was to spy.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 13

Chapter 13 (Jayfeather's point of view)

Jayfeather hurried back to his den. ShadowClan attack! Jayfeather's pelt bristled with worry. Not during leaf-bare! He had to stop this battle. It would weaken both Clans, and neither could benefit from a battle during leaf-bare, even when new-leaf seemed just a few moons away. He brushed against the edge of the cliff, trying to find the secret exit that he, Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf had used to go see Sol when he was in the ShadowClan camp.
Finding the small pawholds, Jayfeather tried to find out if any cat was around. No, all the warriors were either out with Firestar or guarding the camp. The queens and kits were in the nursery and the elders were in the elders' den. Feeling resolve strengthen in him, Jayfeather hauled himself onto the first pawhold and gradually worked his way up until he could sneak out of camp.
He stopped for a moment to listen. In the distance, near the ThunderClan-ShadowClan border, he could hear voices ringing through the trees. Jayfeather shot off in that direction, dodging trees and dead brambles by a whisker-length.
"Stop!" He cried as he hurtled through the trees to the battle ground. Suddenly a sharp cry sounded, and Jayfeather could hear the battle begin violently. I have to stop this battle! With one last burst of energy, Jayfeather leaped into the battlefield. "Stop!!" He yowled as loud as his lungs would allow.
"Stop, now!"
Jayfeather heard the two Clans fall apart from each other, and he could sense that they were stunned. An angry Blackstar stormed up to him.
"What was that for, ThunderClan?" he spat.
Jayfeather was determined to keep the Clans from fighting. "This battle must not happen!!" he shouted. "It's leaf-bare! A battle now will only weaken us!"
He heard a cat come up beside him. Dovepaw.
"Jayfeather is right!" Dovepaw yowled.
"Do you think we're going to listen to a filthy ThunderClan apprentice?" A ShadowClan apprentice hissed. But Jayfeather could sense they were listening.
Dovepaw didn't flinch. "This is leaf-bare! We'll only end up weakening our Clans! Do you want that to happen, Blackstar? Do you want cats to die like Russetfur?"
Jayfeather felt Lionblaze jerk. He still feels responsible for her death. But Lionblaze, too, came to stand with both of them.
The Three are together. Jayfeather heard Rock's voice.
"Do you want more dead cats, Blackstar?" Lionblaze growled, addressing the ShadowClan leader roughly. "Which is better? Dead cats in StarClan or live cats to defend borders?"
Jayfeather sensed Blackstar turning the problem over in his mind. "I suppose so," Blackstar meowed. "It does make sense that another battle during leaf-bare would weaken us, especially soon after the battle where ThunderClan attacked us." His challenging voice was a warning, but Firestar was undaunted.
"The borders will remain as they are, Blackstar." The ThunderClan leader said. "But just remember that ThunderClan will fight for its borders next time they are challenged. Goodbye."
Blackstar gathered his warriors and apprentices together and left the ThunderClan territory, remarking the border where it was once he recrossed into his own territory.
"Let's go back to camp." Firestar said, and for once Jayfeather let Lionblaze and Dovepaw guide him back to camp.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 12

Chapter 12 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze was waken by Dovepaw's screech "ShadowClan attack!"
Lionblaze hurried out as fast as he could. He was not in the mood to fight; he had been woken from a great dream and the ShadowClan cats would pay for his distress! He found out from Brightheart that he was wanted with Firestar to see what ShadowClan wanted, so he rushed over to where he was.
"Good, you are here, now let's go!" Firestar said fast. Before waiting for a response from any of the cats Firestar raced off in the direction of where Dovepaw said ShadowClan was.
According to Dovepaw the patrol was huge! We only have eight and the rest that are hiding in the bushes! Lionblaze thought to himself. Great StarClan! I hope we are enough to beat them! he prayed.
I wish Cinderheart got to go with us, in our group instead of staying in the bushes! He thought as he was runnnig.
They met the ShadowClan cats and there was no doubt that they were shocked that ThunderClan knew about their invasion. Blackstar stepped forward and hissed, "How in StarClan's name did you ThunderClan filth know about our invasion?"
When everyone stayed quiet Blackstar howled in anger and flung himself against Firestar, pinning him down and ripping at his throat. All three cats jumped on Blackstar hauling him off Firestar and flinging him against a tree. The other ShadowClan cats were fighting the rest of Firestar's patrol and the cats that appeared out of the bushes.
Well at least we are even! Lionblaze thought to himself.
He found Cinderheart pinned down fighting a cat half a size bigger than her. Lionblaze felt his fur stand up with rage and he clawed at the cat unmercifully. When the ShadowClan cat got the message and got off running into the forest, back to his camp Lionblaze turned to Cinderheart and asked, "Are you okay??"
"I'm...well I'll live. But you gave that cat some scars that could be vital!" She scolded, not harshly.
"Come on, let's find Dovepaw!" He said.
They found Dovepaw fighting an apprentice; they were circling each other and then the ShadowClan cat jumped at her without warning, but she managed to dodge and he landed on his face. Cinderheart turned around to see a cat in air coming at her. She swatted the tom's eyes and Lionblaze kicked him in his stomach sending him flying. One of the she cats, apparently his mate was full of anger and came at Lionblaze with full force, knocking the wind out of him. He tried to defend himself but he felt a paw hit his head hard and heard Cinderheart call out, "Lionblaze!"
And then everything went black.

Lionblaze woke up two minutes later and when he first opened his eyes he saw Cinderheart's worried face and Dovepaw's hovering over him.
"How long was I out?" Lionblaze croaked.
"Not very long!" Cinderheart said, relief was full in her voice.
"Are you okay?" Dovepaw asked.
"Yea, I'm okay, my head just hurts." Lionblaze said.
"She scratched at you a lot, and yet you still manage to not have a scratch on you. How do you do it?" Cinderheart shook her head, amazed.
"Where is the cat?" Lionblaze asked.
"She ran off in the forest with her mate. Cinderheart and Ivypaw fought her off for you!" Dovepaw said happily, then added, "And I drove off that ratty apprentice!"
"Very good!" Lionblaze praised.
Lionblaze rose to his paws, with pain shooting through him. He saw that cats around him were still fighting. He saw Graystripe fall, wounded badly, with Birchfall by his side. He saw them make their way back to camp. He was sick of it.
"Enough!!" He bellowed.
All cats stopped fighting and turned to him.
"This has gone on long enough! Stop! Blackstar! Why have you come?! Why attack?!" Lionblaze yowled the questions at Blackstar. He felt pain rack his body, but he wasn't going to stop. "Why are we fighting over a useless piece of land?!"

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 11

Chapter 11 (Dovepaw's point of view)

As soon as Dovepaw left the tunnel, following Jayfeather, she questioned him unrelentlessly. "Did you know about the tunnels before now? Why did you never tell me about them?" One more question fizzed on her tongue, but she was worried to ask it. "Who is Dove's Wing?"
Jayfeather turned to face her, his blind eyes glowing in the cold leaf-bare moonlight. "We've got to talk. Where is Lionblaze? Is he out?"
Dovepaw cast out her senses, first to the ThunderClan camp. In the warriors' den, a familiar golden pelt lay, asleep, snoring loudly. "He's sleeping," she said.
Jayfeather shrugged. "We can tell him later. But I've got to talk to you." He sat down under a bare holly bush, dead red holly berries crushing under his paws. Dovepaw sat down as well, facing the medicine cat.
"There was a time before the Clans came to be." Jayfeather said. Dovepaw felt as though she had been drenched in freezing water. "Even before StarClan."
"What!" Dovepaw cried, jumping to her paws. "I don't believe you!" But a little bit of her did believe what Jayfeather was saying. Nothing could have been for ever.
Jayfeather spoke sadly. "Even a StarClan cat eventually fades away forever, into nothingness." Dovepaw felt defeated. "Who am I? Who are you?" she asked softly, knowing the answer would be life-changing.
This time, Jayfeather sounded ancient. "Jay's Wing and Dove's Wing."
A sudden realization swept over Dovepaw. "We are from before StarClan." she said. "We are the ancients. But, then, who is Lionblaze?"
Jayfeather shrugged. "I don't know. I've tried many times to figure him out, but I just don't know."
Dovepaw laughed. "You don't suppose his name could be Noisy Snorer, do you?"
"We've got to be serious about this." Jayfeather chided the gray apprentice. "We've got to find out what the prophecy means, before it's too late. I think we're here to save the Clans from the Dark Forest, but when? I don't think any cat knows, not even StarClan."
Dovepaw suddenly sounded distant. "The Great Battle is coming, and no cat but us can stop it."

A sleepy Dovepaw strode out of the apprentices' den and into the pale leaf-bare morning. "New-leaf is soon," she yawned. "I can smell the plants readying to burst out." Even the cold morning felt a little warmer. The cool breeze that blew through the camp even had scents of warmth on it.
"Good morning, Dovepaw." Firestar padded by on his way to the fresh-kill pile. "Can I speak with you?"
Dovepaw dipped her head to him. "Of course. Do you want me to get Lionblaze or Jay's -" She had almost said Jay's Wing. "Or Jayfeather?"
"No. Just you." The ThunderClan leader replied.
"Come on, Dovepaw! Show us a battle move!" Cherrykit squeaked. She leaped clumsily onto Dovepaw's twitching tail tip. Dovepaw whirled around and playfully, carefully, knocked Cherrykit off her tail.
"Watch this, Dovepaw!" Molekit mewed. He crouched to the ground and stalked a small stone, his tail whisking from side-to-side.
"Keep your tail down!" Dovepaw said. The whisking stopped. Molekit tracked the stone across the clearing, until he was close enough to strike.
"Got ya!" Molekit pounced on the little rock. Dovepaw praised him with a "Very good," and padded toward Firestar's den.
The camp was beginning to stir. Mousefur, thin and weak, was laying on the halfrock with Purdy. Jayfeather came out of his den with a mouthful of leaves and trotted over to them. Mousefur is sick. Dovepaw thought. She could hear Mousefur's tired breathing and smell the sickness. Cherrykit and Molekit were playing in a small square of sunlight, jumping on each other's shadows. Sandstorm was leading a hunting patrol with Dustpelt, Thornclaw, Ivypaw, Cinderheart, and Leafpool. Dovepaw stopped. Something was wrong. She looked around. The camp was secure, the kits were playing, and the hunting patrol had left. But something was wrong. Casting out her senses, Dovepaw didn't see anything out of the ordinary, until she saw a giant ShadowClan patrol racing toward their camp at a tremendous speed.
"ShadowClan attack!" Dovepaw screeched. The whole Clan jumped to attention.
Daisy and Ferncloud gathered the kits into the nursery, and Jayfeather hurried Mousefur and Purdy into the elders' den. He raced back to his den, carrying the remainder of the shriveled leaves. Firestar bounded up the rockfall and yowled to the warriors and apprentices from Highledge,
"Birchfall, Spiderleg, Brambleclaw, Lionblaze, Dovepaw, Squirrelflight, Graystripe, and I will go and find out what ShadowClan wants. Half of the rest of you, come with us, but stay hidden in the brush. The other half will stay and guard the camp."
Dovepaw pounded out the thorn tunnel, with the other appointed cats right behind her. In the forest, Firestar took the lead, and ThunderClan raced through the forest. Feeling worried, Dovepaw wondered, Does StarClan want this battle to happen?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 10

Chapter 10 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Dovepaw hurried through the brush, trying desperately to find the rabbit hole. She had promised Fallen Leaves that she would come back, and she was going to, if she could ever find the entrance. Suddenly, a twig cracked sharply behind her. Dovepaw cast out her senses. A shadow was moving through the forest. Straining on the shadow, it slowly began to take shape. It was a cat, a silver tabby... Jayfeather! Jayfeather was following her. Does he suspect anything? Dovepaw wondered to herself. Is he just looking for herbs? After all, the difference of night and day don't mean a thing to him. A shiver coursed through Dovepaw's body as she remembered her dark dream.
The ground below her paws began to slope downward as Dovepaw neared the lake. She knew the tunnel entrance was near. Feeling around in a swath of brambles, she located the entrance and crawled into it slowly. Earth pressed in around her, making her feel as though she was going to be squashed between the earth. She pulled herself through a tight space, and rolled into the cave.
"I knew you would come."
It was a different voice now, not Fallen Leaves's. Dovepaw stiffened. The voice was nearing her. She looked wildly around, trying to find the voice's owner.
"Do not fear. Rock will not harm you." That was Fallen Leaves's voice. Dovepaw relaxed when she heard it.
Dovepaw saw two shadows coming slowly toward her. "Can't you like... do something to make you more visible?" she asked.
Fallen Leaves's shadow nodded. "I suppose so." He shrugged toward what Dovepaw though was Rock's shadow. Rock shrugged back.
Dovepaw watched closely as Fallen Leaves's shadow brightened into a tabby, but her pelt stood on end as she watched Rock's shadow brighten.
His skin had no fur on it; it was just bare, pink cat skin. His eyes were gray, bulging, and digusting. He had a rat-like tail. Dovepaw shivered.
"Yuck!" managed to escape from her mouth where she was trying to hold it.
Suddenly a silver tabby burst through the end of the tunnel and fell into a pool of moonlight. "Dovepaw!"
It was Jayfeather. He rose to his paws, sniffing the air franticly.
Fallen Leaves turned to face Jayfeather. "Open your eyes, Jayfeather!" he commanded. Dovepaw narrowed her eyes in confusion. Huh?
Jayfeather's eyes opened, and Dovepaw sensed confusion flood from the medicine cat. "I can see!" he exclaimed. He padded softly over to Dovepaw, not seeming to notice Fallen Leaves and Rock. "So that's what the Fourth Apprentice looks like," he mused, and turned to face the two other cats, sitting near the edge of the cliff. Jayfeather nodded to Fallen Leaves. "I'm happy to see you again. I thought the tunnels were gone forever."
Rock stood, and Dovepaw frowned in disgust. That's the wierdest looking cat I've ever seen! "The memory of the tunnels will never be forgotten, no matter how long they have been hidden." he rasped. "Now that the Three know of the tunnels, our ancient ways will never be forgotten."
Dovepaw listened closely. There seemed to be some connection to the Prophecy in what the strange old cat said.
Rock turned to face Dovepaw and Jayfeather, who were huddled closely together in the cold of the night. "After the sharp-eyed Jay and the roaring Lion, peace will come on Dove's gentle wing." Beside her, Dovepaw felt Jayfeather stiffen, and the memory of the dream with Yellowfang flooded back to her in a rush. Rock sat, and his gray eyes seemed to glow in the last of the moonlight.
"Welcome back, Dove's Wing."

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 9

Chapter 9 (Jayfeather's point of view)

A feathery black tail whisked away right in front of Jayfeather. He dashed after it, hoping to catch up with her. Ferns smacked him in the face as he raced after the black she-cat, but she eluded him easily, always keeping a tail-length ahead of him. Panting for breath, Jayfeather halted under a clump of heather. His blue eyes examined the scenery around him as he scanned the underbrush for the wispy black tail.
"Hollyleaf?" he called hopefully. That night, once Lionblaze had left him in peace, he had tried to find Hollyleaf. He had found himself in her dreams almost as soon as he had fallen asleep, and he had tried to follow his sister, but she had always kept a good tail-length ahead of him. This isn't StarClan's hunting grounds, Jayfeather thought. But it isn't the Dark Forest, either. Bright light streamed through the branches of the heather bush, dappling Jayfeather's silver tabby pelt. A gentle, warm, green-leaf breeze blew, blowing the scent of heather flowers and a certain black she-cat toward him. If she isn't in either of those places, she must still be alive. Where is she? Trapped in the tunnels, maybe? A stone dropped into his belly. "If she is, we have to get her out." he said out loud. "Hollyleaf! If you're there, I need to speak with you!"
Several seconds went by. Then a voice, clear as water, answered him. "Jayfeather? Is that you?"
Excitement coursed through Jayfeather's pelt. "Hollyleaf!" Not waiting for an answer, Jayfeather bounded toward the sound of the voice. "I'm coming!" He tried to sense her feelings, but it was hard. Excitement, I think. And something else. He groped at the feeling, trying to understand it. It's what Leafpool felt for Crowfeather whenever she saw him. Love! The sudden realization hit him like a thrown beechnut. She loves me!
He raced faster and faster through the green forest. "Where are you, Hollyleaf?" he yowled.
"Over here!" came the reply.
Suddenly, the ferns shifted with movement, and Hollyleaf exploded into the clearing. Jayfeather halted.
"Hollyleaf!" he cried, pressing his nose into her fur.
"Jayfeather!" Hollyleaf licked his shoulder and rubbed against him. "How are you? Is the Clan okay?"
Panic hit him as he remembered why he came. "Where are you? In the tunnels? If you are, I'll send Firestar to rescue you." Suddenly Hollyleaf disappeared, and Jayfeather was standing on a bare strip of rock, a fierce, freezing wind blowing against him. A voice sounded behind him, and Jayfeather spun around to see who it was.
Rock.
The ancient cat spoke gravely. "The destiny of one cat is not to be messed with." he said. Jayfeather narrowed his eyes. What was that supposed to mean? "What do you mean? I must find Hollyleaf! If she's trapped in the tunnels-"
Rock interuppted him. "Hollyleaf's destiny is the tunnels."
"But can't I just try to find her? I miss her so much!" Jayfeather felt as lost as a hawk's egg in a robin's nest. "What am I supposed to do?"
"She belongs in the tunnels, Jayfeather." the old cat answered. "Hollyleaf's destiny is in them..."
Darkness clamped over Jayfeather as the ancient cat vanished.

Jayfeather awoke. Scrabbling to his paws, he raced out of the medicine den and out of the camp.
"Where are going, Jayfeather?" Cloudtail asked. Jayfeather knew he was on guarding duty.
"I'll be back later!" Jayfeather yowled to the warrior as he ran into the forest. Once he was safely away from camp, Jayfeather stopped and sniffed the air. Dovepaw's scent floated to him. What's she doing out here this early? Maybe I'd better find out. Jayfeather followed her scent toward an old fox den. I sure hope she doesn't decide to use her senses.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 8

Chapter 8 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze gasped. "What do you mean the Dark Forest is coming! They can't be! How?!" Lionblaze streamed out questions, not waiting for Jayfeather to answer them. He then said, "I've got to go." Lionblaze left Jayfeather and went to find Dovepaw. The Dark Forest is coming. Lionblaze thought to himself. That would explain why they need Ivypaw. Tigerstar is thinks he's the best and can beat any cat, but even he is not foolish enough to think that he can overthrow the clans by himself. So he's training cats inside the clans. Now the question is who is he training other than Ivypaw? Lionblaze's mind was swarming with new thoughts.
Lionblaze reached the apprentices' den and called "Dovepaw? Dovepaw, I can smell you. Can you please come here?"
Lionblaze sensed something was wrong when Dovepaw came out. She looked shocked and scared.
"Dovepaw, are you okay?" he asked.
Dovepaw just nodded.
"Follow me." Lionblaze ordered.
Dovepaw followed but Lionblaze could sense that she was using her powers.
Lionblaze led her out into the forest and sighed.
"Dovepaw I need to talk to you about something very important."
"Ok." Dovepaw answered.
"The Dark Forest is recruting cats from different clans. We fear that someone in ThunderClan is being trained too."
That seemed to snap Dovepaw out of her thoughts because she quickly ask, "Who?"
"I think that Hawkfrost-one of the Dark Forest warriors-"
"Hawkfrost?! He's part of the Dark Forest?" Dovepaw shieked.
"Yes, now keep your voice down!" Lionblaze hissed then eyed her suspiciously, "What do you know about Hawkfrost?"
"I-I heard someone talk about him." Dovepaw said uncomforatably.
"Who? Who'd you hear talking about Hawkfrost, Dovepaw?" Lionblaze asked.
"Ivypaw." Dovepaw replied sadly.
"Just as I feared! Ivypaw is being trained by the Dark Forest. She is on their side, not ours!"
"No! Ivypaw wouldn't betray me! We are sisters and best friends! All of this is the stupid prophecy's fault! If it wasn't for that Ivypaw and I would be normal sisters!" Dovepaw cried.
"I'm sorry Dovepaw, but we can't change it."Lionblaze tried to tell her.
"Don't talk to me!" Dovepaw said and began to run away.
"Wait! Dovepaw!" Lionblaze called after her.
He caught up to her and pinned her down.
"Who did you hear talking about Hawkfrost with Ivypaw?" Lionblaze asked.
"Huh?" asked Dovepaw.
"Who was Ivypaw talking to when she was talking about Hawkfrost?" Lionblaze repeated more clearly.
"I can't say." Dovepaw replied.
"Dovepaw you are going to have to! It's for the sake of all the clans!" Lionblaze said, losing his patience.
"Tigerheart. Tigerheart was the one." Dovepaw mumbled.
"Tigerheart?!" Lionblaze hissed.
"Yes now leave me alone!" Dovepaw said and ran off, but this time Lionblaze let her go.
Lionblaze turned and headed back to camp to tell Jayfeather what happened. This is bad! StarClan please don't let this happen! Do something to stop it! Lionblaze wailed up to the sky, in his head.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 7

Chapter 7 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Dovepaw stomped angrily into the empty apprentices' den to wait for Ivypaw. How dare she call my mentor a kit! Flapping her tail in anger, Dovepaw let her paws collapse under her as she curled into her warm nest and closed her eyes as a sharp wind blew through the hollow.

It was nearly sundown when Ivypaw finally came in. Dovepaw sat bolt upright as the gray tabby apprentice stalked into the den.
"Where have you been?" Dovepaw hissed.
Ivypaw curled her lip. "Just doing your duties and being confined to camp for two quarter moons."
Dovepaw leaped to her paws. "You deserve it for acting so rudely to a warrior!" she spat. "What's the matter with you!?"
Ivypaw narrowed her eyes and bolted out of the den, tail slashing the air in fury. Dovepaw stared after her sister as she padded out of the thorn tunnel. Tracking her by senses, Dovepaw tracked her all the way to the ShadowClan border. Then, sitting down, Ivypaw waited for several minutes when suddenly, Tigerheart appeared on the other side of the border. Dovepaw gasped. What is he doing with my sister? she thought, concentrating hard.
"I'm so glad you came, Ivypaw," Tigerheart said. "What is Hawkfrost teaching you now? The double twist and jump?"
But Cinderheart is Ivypaw's mentor! Besides, who is this Hawkfrost?
Ivypaw nodded. "Yep. He even said I was good at it!"
Tigerheart's eyes were challenging. "Bet you wouldn't try it out on an experienced warrior like me!"
"Bet I would!" Ivypaw howled, and for a moment Dovepaw was stunned. I haven't heard her that happy in moons! There was a sudden scuffling of fur against leaves as Tigerheart launched himself at Ivypaw, and Ivypaw seperated herself from Tigerheart. Tigerheart suddenly pricked his ears and looked off into the distance.
"Get lost!" he hissed at Ivypaw. "My border patrol has caught up with me!" With a muffled squeak, Tigerheart shoved Ivypaw into a fern.
Dovepaw watched as Rowanclaw, Dawnpelt, and Blackstar approached Tigerheart. Blackstar was the first to speak.
"Is everything okay on this side of our territory?" Blackstar asked. Tigerheart nodded quickly to his leader.
Rowanclaw sniffed the air and narrowed his eyes. "I smell ThunderClan - and on our side of the border!"
StarClan help them not find my sister! Dovepaw breathed, her heart pounding. She watched as Tigerheart sniffed. Was he going to reveal Ivypaw to them? Then she remembered something. So long as Ivypaw's on ThunderClan territory, it doesn't matter where she is.
Tigerheart spoke. "It might have just drifted on the breeze," he said falteringly. "You know, from their camp."
What does that ShadowClan cat know about our camp? Dovepaw wondered. Has Tigerheart been here before?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 6

Chapter 6 (Jayfeather's point of view)

"Thank you for telling us about the catmint, Jayfeather," Mothwing said calmly. "Now Rushpaw should be okay."
"I'm glad." Jayfeather responded curtly. He was in a hurry to get back to camp. Though Brightheart was taking care of his medicine duties while he was away, Jayfeather felt as though something important needed his attention. "I will be going now." With a sharp nod, he padded out of the den.
Brackenfur and Whitewing were anxious to be going, too, Jayfeather sensed. Although they were standing tall under the RiverClan cats' gazes, the scent of worry shot at Jayfeather like a gale.
Brackenfur was kneading the ground in front of him. "Is it time to leave?" he asked. Jayfeather nodded, and the three ThunderClan cats left the RiverClan camp and headed toward ThunderClan territory.

Jayfeather padded into camp and headed straight for the medicine den. He could sense the presence of Lionblaze as he waited for Jayfeather in the den. Worried, Jayfeather sniffed around in Lionblaze's mind. An eerie feeling crept under his pelt. Lionblaze is scared! He's terrified! What happened? Something horrible was going on. Picking up his speed, Jayfeather raced across the clearing. Suddenly he tripped over a branch from the fallen birch. "Fox dung!" he meowed, pulling the tiny splinters out with his teeth and licking his pad to clean it. Once the pain was gone, Jayfeather padded slowly into his den. "What's wrong, Lionblaze?" he asked.
"Dovepaw had a dream," Lionblaze began cautiously.
He's afraid to tell me what's going on!
Beginning to feel annoyed, Jayfeather said, "I know something's wrong. Just tell me what it is, for StarClan's sake!"
Lionblaze was a little more sure of himself now. "Well, Dovepaw dreamed that she was going hunting early in the morning, and the streams - you know, the ones we saved from the beavers - were flowing with blood, and the lake was red with it. On the edge of the lake stood four shining cats, and they looked so sad she said it nearly tore her heart out to watch them. She said they almost looked like they were crying. And then, suddenly, darkness fell over all our territories. The shining cats gasped audibly and vanished into thin air; she stood at the edge of the lake, near where they had been, and watched as our forest was swallowed into blackness. From where she was standing, Dovepaw said she could see many cats streaming from the sky, their pelts black like night." Jayfeather gasped. Dovepaw's dream could only mean one thing.
"The Dark Forest is coming!"

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 5

Chapter 5 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze and Dovepaw padded out to the sandy hollow and began to train. Dovepaw was against both Cinderheart and Lionblaze, while Ivypaw watched. Lionblaze backed up and focused his eyes on Dovepaw. Lionblaze saw a flash streak by him. It took him a moment to realize that Cinderheart had flown by him towards Dovepaw. He watched as Dovepaw struggled to get her off. When Dovepaw kicked and managed to get Cinderheart off he lunged at her knocking her back down and hissed, "Always be aware of other cats." Dovepaw batted at Lionblaze but he kept her down. She's putting up a good fight, but is lacking good techniques, he thought. Lionblaze got up and Cinderheart was by him. "Go behind her." Lionblaze whispered. Cinderheart did as told and went behind Dovepaw so they sort of circled her. Dovepaw turned around not knowing who to attack or what to do.
Lionblaze was the first to make a move this time. Dovepaw turned to fave him and jumped out of the way so Lionblaze collided into Cinderheart. Lionblaze got up and shook his fur and apologized to Cinderheart.
"Very smart! Good job Dovepaw!" Lionblaze praized.
Out of the corner of his eye Lionblaze saw Ivypaw move boredly.
"Hey Ivypaw, your turn. Come on, let's see what you have." He called.
"Whatch and learn" Lionblaze heard Ivypaw whisper to Dovepaw as they passed each other.
Lionblaze saw Dovepaw's fur bristle and said to her, "Dont let her get to you, you did great."
Dovepaw purred.
"Okay. Ready Ivypaw?" Cinderheart asked.
"I'm always ready." Ivypaw growled.
Lionblaze lept at her very quickly. Ivypaw dodged and lept at the back of his legs. Lionblaze fell. Now how in StarClan's name did she learn that move? Lionblaze asked himself.
He got up and saw Ivypaw knock Cinderheart down with the same move. Ivypaw turned back to him and used the move Tigerstar taught Lionblaze.
I know that move! How did she learn that, unless...No she's Dovepaw's sister. Dovepaw is one of the Three. Ivypaw wouldn't let Tigerstar use her. She can't be training with the Dark Forest! She just can't! Lionblaze thought. He continued to think about it but was snapped out of his thoughts when he hit the ground.
"A good warrior is always ready for the unexpected. Right Lionblaze?" Ivypaw asked. She was ontop of him. Lionblaze pushed her off and said, "Training's done, Dovepaw let's go."
"Why? Cause you lost? Aw. Is the big strong Lionblaze sad?" Ivypaw taunted.
"Ivypaw that is enough!" snapped Cinderheart.
Lionblaze just kept going.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 5

Chapter 5 (Dovepaw's point of view)

"Dovepaw, come back here." Lionblaze called sternly to his apprentice. Instinctively, Dovepaw froze in mid pawstep, her tail-tip twitching upsettedly.
He has no idea what I'm going through! the dove-gray apprentice thought angrily. Ivypaw is in danger somehow! She's my sister. I have to figure out what's going on. And then I find some secret tunnels that run beneath ThunderClan territory, and a cat that died in them. Slowly, Dovepaw turned to face her mentor. "What's the matter now?" she asked, her gaze fixed firmly on Lionblaze's amber eyes. Lionblaze lost his patience.
"What's the matter with you, Dovepaw?" the ginger tom exclaimed loudly. Dovepaw pinned her ears to her head. "You've been acting strange all day." Lionblaze quieted down. "Is something wrong?" He circled Dovepaw slowly. "Did something happen?"
Dovepaw took a breath, but then paused herself. I don't have to tell him about the tunnels yet, do I? They're not doing harm to any cat, and I want to find out more about Fallen Leaves and what the tunnels are for before Jayfeather and Lionblaze find out and go tramping down there. She shrugged to herself. But I guess I can tell them about the dream.
"I had a strange dream..." Dovepaw began. Lionblaze listened closely. "I dreamed that I was going hunting early in the morning, and the streams - you know, the ones we saved from the beavers - were flowing with blood, and the lake was red with it. On the edge of the lake stood four shining cats, and they looked so sad it nearly tore my heart out to watch them. They almost looked like they were crying. And then, suddenly, darkness fell over all our territories. The shining cats gasped audibly and vanished into thin air; I stood at the edge of the lake, near where they had been, and watched as our forest was swallowed into blackness. From where I was standing, I could see many cats streaming from the sky, their pelts black like night." She hunched closer to the ground as a sharp breeze blew. "Then I woke up."
Lionblaze looked like he hadn't listened at all; he was muttering to himself. Dovepaw pricked her ears toward him. "The Dark Forest-" he gasped quietly. "darkness over the forest - could it be? StarClan - they have lost us."
Dovepaw stood and paced anxiously. "What do you mean, StarClan have lost us?"
Lionblaze didn't answer. Instead, he padded toward the sandy training hollow. Dovepaw followed quickly after him. Suddenly, the forest didn't seem too inviting.

"That's right, Ivypaw! Very good." Cinderheart praised. Ivypaw heaved for breath, one paw planted firmly on Dovepaw's chest. Dovepaw wriggled under the force of her paw.
"Can I get up now, Ivypaw?"
"Sure," Ivypaw shook scraps of moss from her pelt and Dovepaw scooted quickly over to the edge of the hollow by Lionblaze.
Cinderheart padded to the center of the sandy hollow, and Lionblaze joined her. "Let's try the jump-twist." Cinderheart said, twitching her ears. "That should warm you up." Dovepaw watched as Lionblaze demostrated it to her.
He crouched at a far edge of the clearing. Cinderheart rushed at him and he leaped over her, landing with plenty of room to spare. Twisting quickly around before Cinderheart could attack, Lionblaze wrapped his paws around her front feet and flung her to the ground. Then the two sparring cats sprang apart.
"Dovepaw, you rush at Ivypaw." Lionblaze directed.
Dovepaw took her place at the edge of the clearing as Ivypaw took her place on the other side. I think I've got a trick that can defeat Ivypaw. Dovepaw rushed at her sister. Ivypaw leaped effortlessly over her and landed squarely on all four feet. Dovepaw, however, spun around as fast as she could, raced past Ivypaw before Ivypaw had a chance to flip her, and lashed out with her hind paws as she went past. Ivypaw's hind legs were kicked out from under her, and she toppled to the ground. Dovepaw turned to look at Cinderheart and Lionblaze. They were staring at her, surprise on their faces.
"Very good, Dovepaw!" Cinderheart complimented. "Neat trick. What do you think, Ivypaw?"
The gray tabby apprentice rose shakily to her paws and shook her pelt clean. She shrugged. "I guess it's okay." she said grumpily.
Dovepaw narrowed her eyes at her sister. What was wrong with Ivypaw now?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 4

Chapter 4 (Jayfeather's point of view)

"Longtail!" Jayfeather cried. "How nice to see you!" He leaned forward curiously. "Can you see?" The brown tabby, lithe and young again, turned to look at Jayfeather. "Jayfeather! It's you!" Longtail padded toward him and smoothed a patch of fur between Jayfeather's ears. "You are quite a handsome young cat, Jayfeather."
Jayfeather's heart leaped for joy. "So you can see!" he exclaimed. "I'm so glad!""Of course," Longtail replied. He bounded away into the ferns. Jayfeather jumped in after him.
"Wait!" he yowled, pursuing Longtail through the lovely green forest where StarClan lived. "I want to talk to you!" But as much as he ran after the swift cat, Longtail always seemed to stay ahead of him. He runs like WindClan! Jayfeather thought as he sat down to catch his breath. As he sat on a tussock of grass, cleaning himself, Jayfeather heard voices over a ridge. He slipped quietly around the trees, silent as a mouse, and came quickly to the place where the voices were speaking.
Yellowfang, Longtail, Bluestar, Whitestorm, Tallstar, Lionheart, and Spottedleaf sat around a small spring of water, talking in hushed, worried voices. Jayfeather hid beneath a fern frond and listened.
"But we can't leave them to their own devices," Whitestorm was saying. "Tigerstar and Hawkfrost are already training Ivypaw." His eyes darkened. "Lionblaze was being trained before, and Jayfeather knows about the Dark Forest, but Dovepaw does not know of Tigerstar's wily abilities. Could she be targeted for training? After all, she is one of the Three."
Spottedleaf stood, her mottled fur bristling in anger. "If Dovepaw ever does go to the Dark Forest, I'll go and get her like I did with Jayfeather when he was an apprentice." She let her fur lie flat against her backbone again.
Yellowfang was the next to speak. "We must not let Tigerstar recruit anymore Clan cats. If we can stop that, I don't think we'll have any more problems."
"But remember, Yellowfang," Bluestar said. "This battle is not to be prevented. It needs to happen, for the good of all the Clans."
Yellowfang shrugged. "I'm worried, Bluestar."
"We're all worried." Feathertail's quiet voice sounded directly behind Jayfeather. She padded down the slope, and clearly Jayfeather had not been spotted. "Even in the skies I walk."
"Feathertail." Tallstar nodded to the two-sky walker. "You walk in both our skies, the Tribe of Endless Hunting's, and StarClan's."
Feathertail sat. "I have just come from Hol-" She broke off as Jayfeather came tumbling down the slope. He had recieved a playful shove from behind and was sent tumbling out of his protective hiding place. All the cats turned to look at him, but he wasn't worried. Excitement had made his fur stand on end.
"Were you about to say Hollyleaf?"
But before any of the StarClan cats could answer, Jayfeather was flung out of his dream and back into darkness.
"Jayfeather!" Whitewing was saying, nudging his pelt with a soft paw. "Wake up, Jayfeather!"
With a grunt, Jayfeather heaved himself to his paws and flattened his pelt, which felt charged with excitement. Was Hollyleaf still alive? Where was she? "Hollyleaf?"
Pity flashed from Brackenfur's pelt. "You were asleep." he said quickly and trotted off toward the WindClan border, with Jayfeather and Whitewing following after him.
But Jayfeather was thinking. If Hollyleaf is dead, is she in StarClan or the Dark Forest? Could she still be alive, trapped under the surface of the earth, in the tunnels? Jayfeather shook his head in disgust. I'd hate myself if her beautiful fur fell out like Rock's and she looked like him. In his mind, Jayfeather formed a picture of Rock: bulging, gray, sightless eyes, huge, curved claws, a rat-like tail and skin that had no fur. For a moment, Jayfeather wondered how the cat came to be down in the earth and why he had never come back up.
"Watch out for the water, Jayfeather." Whitewing's gentle voice snapped Jayfeather out of his thoughts. As he trudged through the freezing water, Jayfeather wondered,
Is Hollyleaf still alive?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 3

Chapter 3 (Jayfeather's point of view)

Jayfeather ruffled his fur against the wind as he trotted toward the elder's den. Leaf-bare was coming, and ThunderClan wasn't strong enough to handle it, especially after the battle with ShadowClan. That battle should never have happened! Jayfeather thought anxiously. Was Ivypaw lying? For a moment he considered the thought, but then pushed it away. Dovepaw is her sister, and she wasn't lying about the beavers.
He ducked quickly into the elder's den, grateful to be out of the wind. After he checked on the sick Mousefur, Jayfeather was heading to RiverClan to show Mothwing where the catmint was.
"How are you doing?" Jayfeather asked Purdy, who was rambling on and on about a rat he'd caught. Mousefur was curled in the nest beside him, her eyes closed, supposedly asleep. The smell of whitecough reached Jayfeather's nose, making his fur bristle slightly. Mousefur was still grieving for Longtail, and now she had whitecough on top of all that. Purdy had stopped rambling and was looking at Mousefur with a worried look in his eyes.
"How is she?" Purdy asked softly, leaning down to sniff his denmate.
Jayfeather bowed his head. "Sick, Purdy." He could sense Purdy's concern, but he pushed it away. "I'll be right back with some catmint." Jayfeather said, and padded out of the den.

"I'll send Brackenfur and Whitewing to guard you," Firestar was saying. "Leaf-bare is a tense time for all four of the Clans, and I don't want to risk something happening to you."
Jayfeather opened his mouth to reply, but Firestar bent down to finish eating his vole. With a sigh, Jayfeather padded out of the den and down the rockfall that led to Firestar's den. "Brackenfur! Whitewing!" he called. Brackenfur came running from the warriors' den.
"What's the matter, Jayfeather?" he asked. Jayfeather could smell worry coming off him in powerful waves.
"Go find Whitewing and meet me by the WindClan border," Jayfeather responded. Before Brackenfur could object, he said, "Firestar's order. I'm going to RiverClan."
Brackenfur's receding pawsteps told Jayfeather he had left. I'll leave as soon as Brackenfur's scent fades. I don't want to talk the whole way to the WindClan border. He headed toward the freshkill pile. I'll eat while I'm waiting. Jayfeather sniffed the meager mound of prey and pulled out a thin shrew. The creature was so thin, Jayfeather could feel every single one of its bones. Gulping down the shrew, Jayfeather headed toward the thorn tunnel.
"See you later, Jayfeather!" Hazeltail called from the entrance of the thorn tunnel. Jayfeather sped up and raced toward the WindClan border, navigating the trees as easily as if he could see where he was headed.
As he neared the border, Jayfeather slowed to a walk and sat down under a holly bush to shelter from the wind. Feeling tired from his brisk run, Jayfeather collasped to the ground and curled up into a ball of gray fur.
Instantly he was whisked into the sky, to StarClan's hunting grounds. "Hello?" he yowled. No cat was around. "Yellowfang? Spottedleaf? Bluestar?"
Suddenly the ferns exploded with the body of a cat. Jayfeather crouched to the ground. The tom was chasing after a rabbit, his tail whisking from left to right. Then the rabbit vanished into its den, and the tom growled.
It was then that Jayfeather realized who it was.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 2

Chapter 2 (Dovepaw's point of view)

"No more catmint?" Lionblaze queried Dovepaw. "But they must! It's the beginning of leaf-bare. Every medicine cat has to have enough catmint. They wouldn't miss not having any, not during leaf-bare. Check again." The ginger tom ordered.
Dovepaw sent her senses back to the RiverClan medicine den. "I can't smell any catmint," she said, her eyes unfocused. "and Rushpaw is deathly ill with greencough." She looked back at her mentor. "We've got to do something! Rushpaw might die!"
Lionblaze flicked his tail in the direction of the ThunderClan camp. "Run back and tell Jayfeather. He'll know what to do." Even as a 'paw, Jayfeather had been the leader of the Three: always thinking of ways to solve a problem. As Dovepaw whisked away, he yelled after her, "I'll hunt for a while!"
Racing down the path toward camp, Dovepaw sent her senses ahead of her to scout the way. A patrol led by Brambleclaw was heading straight for her. How will I explain about this? Brambleclaw knew of her powers, but not the other warriors. It would be hard to explain to them. With a grunt, Dovepaw squeezed herself down a small rabbit hole. She could hear a breeze blowing her scent directly at the ThunderClan patrol, so Dovepaw needed to get as far down the hole as possible. Grasping the soil with her claws, Dovepaw squeezed out of the rabbit hole and suddenly found herself in a gigantic cave, with an undergroud river rushing through it. Neat! Dovepaw thought, staring with wide eyes at the cave and the dark river. I can't wait to tell Jayfeather and Lionblaze. But maybe I won't tell them just yet. Until I do tell them, I can explore, and it will be my own secret place! The thought excited Dovepaw. She saw many tunnels around her, tunnels that could lead anywhere. Suddenly, Dovepaw sensed movement. She turned around quickly, but nothing was there; just a tall ledge high above her head.
Dovepaw hauled herself onto the ledge to look around, but when she did, she felt something soft, like the pelt of a cat, brush against her.
"You have come, little sister," a voice whispered. Dovepaw looked around for the cat that had spoken, but she couldn't see anything else in the cave with her.
Swallowing a feeling of fear, Dovepaw spoke, her voice shaking. "Where are you? Who are you?" She stood ridged, fur bristling, in case an enemy was waiting in the shadows to attack her.
"I am Fallen Leaves." The cat rasped, and at the edge of her vision, Dovepaw thought she saw a shadow flicker briefly before vanishing. "Have no fear, little sister. I nor Rock will harm you."
"Are you a StarClan cat?" Dovepaw asked, aware that Fallen Leaves was on the ledge with her. The pelt brushed against her once again. "I can't see you."
Fallen Leaves spoke sadly. "I am not StarClan," he replied to Dovepaw.
Dovepaw stared down at the floor of the cave, far below her. "Why can't I see you, Fallen Leaves?"
"Because I am dead," Fallen Leaves said slowly.
Dovepaw cast her senses at the shadow which she thought was Fallen Leaves. Suddenly, her mind was filled with the sound of the rushing river. Fallen Leaves was running along a narrow tunnel, frantic with fear. Water was surging up the tunnel, threatening to carry away anything it could. Fallen Leaves raced down the tunnel faster and faster, until it reached a dead end. He was heaving for breath and wild with fright. Turning, he ran back down the tunnel, thrashing through the water, trying to make it back to the cave and safety before it flooded. Suddenly a huge wall of water came tumbling down the stone tunnel and toward Fallen Leaves. He was swept up by it and carried down to the cave, where he drowned fighting the water.
"I drowned." Fallen Leaves said quietly, and his scent faded away. "Goodbye, little sister. I'll wait for you."
Dovepaw jumped down to the cave floor. "Farewell, Fallen Leaves," she murmured. "I'll be back later." Waving her tail in goodbye, Dovepaw squeezed out of the cave.

"Why should we care if RiverClan has no catmint?" Jayfeather said. It was much quieter in the medicine cat den now that Briarlight had moved to the warriors' den. "It doesn't concern us."
"But Jayfeather," Dovepaw begged. "Rushpaw is deathly ill. Wouldn't you give me catmint if I was sick with greencough?"
Jayfeather looked annoyed. "Of course," he replied smartly. "You're one of the Three. I would do all I could to save you, Dovepaw." He turned back to sorting the horsetail, marigold, and oak leaves.
Just then, Leafpool came in limping. "Jayfeather, I have a thorn pad. Will you get it out, please? I would myself, but it's dug in deep."
Dovepaw sniffed at Leafpool's pad. "I could get it out, Jayfeather. Thorns are easy." While Leafpool held out her paw, Dovepaw gripped the thorn and gave it a hard tug. Leafpool flinched in pain, and the bramble thorn came out. Dovepaw padded out of the den and spat it out.
"Good job, Dovepaw," Leafpool praised when the young apprentice re-entered the medicine den. She licked the blood off her pad. "What are you speaking with Jayfeather about? Did you have another dream about the beavers?"
"No," Dovepaw shook her head. "Just about RiverClan, and how they have no more catmint."
Leafpool leaned forward. "How did you know that?" she asked.
Dovepaw felt her ears grow hot until the warrior's gaze. She had to think of something quick. "I-"
"Mothwing told me at the Moonpool," Jayfeather said quickly. Dovepaw shot him a grateful glance. "She said they were out of catmint, and they couldn't find anymore."
"She could find more by the Thunderpath," Leafpool said. "Catmint has always grown there in RiverClan, but she never knew about it." Dovepaw didn't bother to ask how she knew where catmint in RiverClan grew the best. "Jayfeather, will you go and tell Mothwing where it grows?" she asked.
Jayfeather shrugged. "I suppose I can," he said. Dovepaw twitched the tip of her tail excitedly.
"Can I go with you?" She asked. "I'm sure Lionblaze will say yes."
Leafpool rolled her eyes. "Ask him first."
"Okay!" Dovepaw bounded out of the den and toward the forest. She raced out of the thorn tunnel and leaped effortlessly over a fallen birch tree. The cold morning rays of sunlight reached through the trees to warm her back. "Lionblaze!" Dovepaw called when she sensed him nearing her. "Lionblaze!" A familiar golden pelt, dappled with sunlight, wove through the trees.
"Yes? What is it?" Lionblaze asked, his claws flexing in the soft leaf mold. "What did Jayfeather say?"
Dovepaw halted and gasped in breaths of freezing air. "He says he'll go. Can I go with him? Please?" Hope fluttered for a moment in her heart.
Lionblaze shook his head. "No, Dovepaw. I'm sorry, but you've got training to do. Firestar will send some warriors with Jayfeather." He paused for a moment, and Dovepaw stared at the ground. She had wanted to go with Jayfeather to RiverClan. Lionblaze saw her sadness and quickly said, "Let's go get Cinderheart and Ivypaw and go battle train at the sandy hollow. How does that sound?"
Dovepaw blinked at him sadly and padded toward the lake.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version!): Chapter 1

Chapter 1 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Dovepaw thrashed in her nest, tangling her legs in the soft moss and scattering it everywhere. Her claws were extended, their sharp tips digging into the back of her sister, Ivypaw. Dovepaw's eyes flew open. "Ivypaw!" she screeched. In one swift movement, Dovepaw leaped to her paws, her eyes wild with fright. "Ivypaw!"
Ivypaw lifted her head. "What's the matter, Dovepaw?"
Although her heart was beating rapidly, Dovepaw forced herself to settle down, and tried to keep her voice from shaking. "Oh, nothing," she said softly, and padded out of the apprentices' den at a fast walk.
A frosty dawn was approaching quickly, and the stone hollow where ThunderClan made their camp would slowly begin to stir. Casting her senses about the camp, Dovepaw heard Cloudtail's loud snoring in the warriors' den, his breath billowing up like a storm cloud. Flicking her ears toward the cliff wall where Jayfeather's den was, she smelled the medicine cat sorting old, crunchy herbs. Tansy and yarrow, Dovepaw thought silently. For a brief moment, she saw Briarlight. The crippled warrior was stretched out in her bed of moss, her chest rising and falling softly.
Dovepaw's mind flew back to her dream. I must ask Jayfeather about it. She told herself silently. But what could rivers of blood, shining cats, and a dark forest possibly mean?
For a moment, Dovepaw wondered if she should bother Jayfeather with the news. It might just be a bad dream. She shrugged it off. I can tell him later.
"Good morning, Dovepaw," Lionblaze padded up to her. "Want to go for an early morning run?"
"I guess so," Dovepaw sighed. She trotted up the thorn tunnel. A freezing gust of wind pierced her dove-gray fur, chilling her to the bone. Lionblaze followed her out, his ginger fur ruffled by the wind.
Brackenfur was guarding the entrance. "Out for some hunting?" Lionblaze shook his head.
"A run."
"Enjoy yourselves!" Brackenfur rumbled. He crouched down, and Dovepaw could see that he was freezing in the chilly morning. She scolded herself briefly for getting up so early. A warm nest was what she needed right now.
Mousebrain! Dovepaw told herself. All I need is to get greencough, it being the beginning of leafbare. A cold feeling of dread crept into the pit of her stomach. And right after the battle with ShadowClan.
Only a quarter moon ago, Ivypaw had told Firestar about a dream she had had, and Firestar had taken his warriors to fight ShadowClan over a small piece of worthless territory. In the end, Russetfur, the ShadowClan deputy, had died and Firestar had lost a life.
Dovepaw let her senses roam around the forest as Lionblaze started a brisk run. RiverClan was stirring, and some of their warriors were hunting fish at the stream. Mothwing was in her herb store, dragging out a leaf of catmint. An apprentice sick with greencough lay next to her. Rushpaw! Dovepaw thought. Willowshine came into the den, shaking her head worriedly.
"Lionblaze!" Dovepaw halted, her heart pumping wildly. Lionblaze stopped running and turned to face his apprentice.
"What's the matter, Dovepaw?" he asked, concern glowing in his amber eyes.
Dovepaw cast her senses back to RiverClan, just to make sure. "RiverClan has no more catmint!"

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version)

This is my version of Night Whispers. If any of you would like to help me write it, please post in a comment a sample chapter of your writing, along with what cat you would like to write (i.e. Jayfeather or Lionblaze). I need two others to help me write it. The main characters will be Jayfeather, Lionblaze, and Dovepaw. The story will be written in their point-of-views. I'm going to write Dovepaw, so Jayfeather and Lionblaze positions still need to be filled.
This version of Night Whispers will be a dark one, filled with visions of Clan wars, the Dark Forest, StarClan, and danger at every turn.

Prolouge

A light fog covered the lake. Bluestar padded down to the edge of it, her eyes shining in pain. "What has my Clan done to deserve this future?" she cried in agony. Her voice echoed across the lake.
"Have faith, Bluestar." Spottedleaf's mottled tailtip lightly touched her leader's shoulder. "The Three have much to do before they join us." She looked up at the dawn sky, studded with rapidly vanishing stars. Morning was coming.
Bluestar looked at the ground in agony. "But there is so much darkness to come, just as light gives way to night, and the skies become dark. Whispers of evil are no less than a whisker's length away now. Danger lurks at every turn for the Three. Much will occur before the Clans move on into the New Era."
Spottedleaf was murmuring something to herself, whispering softly, her breath coming in billows. "Rest well, dear Briarlight," she murmured. "You will not join StarClan yet."
