Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 11

Chapter 11 (Dovepaw's point of view)

As soon as Dovepaw left the tunnel, following Jayfeather, she questioned him unrelentlessly. "Did you know about the tunnels before now? Why did you never tell me about them?" One more question fizzed on her tongue, but she was worried to ask it. "Who is Dove's Wing?"
Jayfeather turned to face her, his blind eyes glowing in the cold leaf-bare moonlight. "We've got to talk. Where is Lionblaze? Is he out?"
Dovepaw cast out her senses, first to the ThunderClan camp. In the warriors' den, a familiar golden pelt lay, asleep, snoring loudly. "He's sleeping," she said.
Jayfeather shrugged. "We can tell him later. But I've got to talk to you." He sat down under a bare holly bush, dead red holly berries crushing under his paws. Dovepaw sat down as well, facing the medicine cat.
"There was a time before the Clans came to be." Jayfeather said. Dovepaw felt as though she had been drenched in freezing water. "Even before StarClan."
"What!" Dovepaw cried, jumping to her paws. "I don't believe you!" But a little bit of her did believe what Jayfeather was saying. Nothing could have been for ever.
Jayfeather spoke sadly. "Even a StarClan cat eventually fades away forever, into nothingness." Dovepaw felt defeated. "Who am I? Who are you?" she asked softly, knowing the answer would be life-changing.
This time, Jayfeather sounded ancient. "Jay's Wing and Dove's Wing."
A sudden realization swept over Dovepaw. "We are from before StarClan." she said. "We are the ancients. But, then, who is Lionblaze?"
Jayfeather shrugged. "I don't know. I've tried many times to figure him out, but I just don't know."
Dovepaw laughed. "You don't suppose his name could be Noisy Snorer, do you?"
"We've got to be serious about this." Jayfeather chided the gray apprentice. "We've got to find out what the prophecy means, before it's too late. I think we're here to save the Clans from the Dark Forest, but when? I don't think any cat knows, not even StarClan."
Dovepaw suddenly sounded distant. "The Great Battle is coming, and no cat but us can stop it."

A sleepy Dovepaw strode out of the apprentices' den and into the pale leaf-bare morning. "New-leaf is soon," she yawned. "I can smell the plants readying to burst out." Even the cold morning felt a little warmer. The cool breeze that blew through the camp even had scents of warmth on it.
"Good morning, Dovepaw." Firestar padded by on his way to the fresh-kill pile. "Can I speak with you?"
Dovepaw dipped her head to him. "Of course. Do you want me to get Lionblaze or Jay's -" She had almost said Jay's Wing. "Or Jayfeather?"
"No. Just you." The ThunderClan leader replied.
"Come on, Dovepaw! Show us a battle move!" Cherrykit squeaked. She leaped clumsily onto Dovepaw's twitching tail tip. Dovepaw whirled around and playfully, carefully, knocked Cherrykit off her tail.
"Watch this, Dovepaw!" Molekit mewed. He crouched to the ground and stalked a small stone, his tail whisking from side-to-side.
"Keep your tail down!" Dovepaw said. The whisking stopped. Molekit tracked the stone across the clearing, until he was close enough to strike.
"Got ya!" Molekit pounced on the little rock. Dovepaw praised him with a "Very good," and padded toward Firestar's den.
The camp was beginning to stir. Mousefur, thin and weak, was laying on the halfrock with Purdy. Jayfeather came out of his den with a mouthful of leaves and trotted over to them. Mousefur is sick. Dovepaw thought. She could hear Mousefur's tired breathing and smell the sickness. Cherrykit and Molekit were playing in a small square of sunlight, jumping on each other's shadows. Sandstorm was leading a hunting patrol with Dustpelt, Thornclaw, Ivypaw, Cinderheart, and Leafpool. Dovepaw stopped. Something was wrong. She looked around. The camp was secure, the kits were playing, and the hunting patrol had left. But something was wrong. Casting out her senses, Dovepaw didn't see anything out of the ordinary, until she saw a giant ShadowClan patrol racing toward their camp at a tremendous speed.
"ShadowClan attack!" Dovepaw screeched. The whole Clan jumped to attention.
Daisy and Ferncloud gathered the kits into the nursery, and Jayfeather hurried Mousefur and Purdy into the elders' den. He raced back to his den, carrying the remainder of the shriveled leaves. Firestar bounded up the rockfall and yowled to the warriors and apprentices from Highledge,
"Birchfall, Spiderleg, Brambleclaw, Lionblaze, Dovepaw, Squirrelflight, Graystripe, and I will go and find out what ShadowClan wants. Half of the rest of you, come with us, but stay hidden in the brush. The other half will stay and guard the camp."
Dovepaw pounded out the thorn tunnel, with the other appointed cats right behind her. In the forest, Firestar took the lead, and ThunderClan raced through the forest. Feeling worried, Dovepaw wondered, Does StarClan want this battle to happen?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 10

Chapter 10 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Dovepaw hurried through the brush, trying desperately to find the rabbit hole. She had promised Fallen Leaves that she would come back, and she was going to, if she could ever find the entrance. Suddenly, a twig cracked sharply behind her. Dovepaw cast out her senses. A shadow was moving through the forest. Straining on the shadow, it slowly began to take shape. It was a cat, a silver tabby... Jayfeather! Jayfeather was following her. Does he suspect anything? Dovepaw wondered to herself. Is he just looking for herbs? After all, the difference of night and day don't mean a thing to him. A shiver coursed through Dovepaw's body as she remembered her dark dream.
The ground below her paws began to slope downward as Dovepaw neared the lake. She knew the tunnel entrance was near. Feeling around in a swath of brambles, she located the entrance and crawled into it slowly. Earth pressed in around her, making her feel as though she was going to be squashed between the earth. She pulled herself through a tight space, and rolled into the cave.
"I knew you would come."
It was a different voice now, not Fallen Leaves's. Dovepaw stiffened. The voice was nearing her. She looked wildly around, trying to find the voice's owner.
"Do not fear. Rock will not harm you." That was Fallen Leaves's voice. Dovepaw relaxed when she heard it.
Dovepaw saw two shadows coming slowly toward her. "Can't you like... do something to make you more visible?" she asked.
Fallen Leaves's shadow nodded. "I suppose so." He shrugged toward what Dovepaw though was Rock's shadow. Rock shrugged back.
Dovepaw watched closely as Fallen Leaves's shadow brightened into a tabby, but her pelt stood on end as she watched Rock's shadow brighten.
His skin had no fur on it; it was just bare, pink cat skin. His eyes were gray, bulging, and digusting. He had a rat-like tail. Dovepaw shivered.
"Yuck!" managed to escape from her mouth where she was trying to hold it.
Suddenly a silver tabby burst through the end of the tunnel and fell into a pool of moonlight. "Dovepaw!"
It was Jayfeather. He rose to his paws, sniffing the air franticly.
Fallen Leaves turned to face Jayfeather. "Open your eyes, Jayfeather!" he commanded. Dovepaw narrowed her eyes in confusion. Huh?
Jayfeather's eyes opened, and Dovepaw sensed confusion flood from the medicine cat. "I can see!" he exclaimed. He padded softly over to Dovepaw, not seeming to notice Fallen Leaves and Rock. "So that's what the Fourth Apprentice looks like," he mused, and turned to face the two other cats, sitting near the edge of the cliff. Jayfeather nodded to Fallen Leaves. "I'm happy to see you again. I thought the tunnels were gone forever."
Rock stood, and Dovepaw frowned in disgust. That's the wierdest looking cat I've ever seen! "The memory of the tunnels will never be forgotten, no matter how long they have been hidden." he rasped. "Now that the Three know of the tunnels, our ancient ways will never be forgotten."
Dovepaw listened closely. There seemed to be some connection to the Prophecy in what the strange old cat said.
Rock turned to face Dovepaw and Jayfeather, who were huddled closely together in the cold of the night. "After the sharp-eyed Jay and the roaring Lion, peace will come on Dove's gentle wing." Beside her, Dovepaw felt Jayfeather stiffen, and the memory of the dream with Yellowfang flooded back to her in a rush. Rock sat, and his gray eyes seemed to glow in the last of the moonlight.
"Welcome back, Dove's Wing."

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 9

Chapter 9 (Jayfeather's point of view)

A feathery black tail whisked away right in front of Jayfeather. He dashed after it, hoping to catch up with her. Ferns smacked him in the face as he raced after the black she-cat, but she eluded him easily, always keeping a tail-length ahead of him. Panting for breath, Jayfeather halted under a clump of heather. His blue eyes examined the scenery around him as he scanned the underbrush for the wispy black tail.
"Hollyleaf?" he called hopefully. That night, once Lionblaze had left him in peace, he had tried to find Hollyleaf. He had found himself in her dreams almost as soon as he had fallen asleep, and he had tried to follow his sister, but she had always kept a good tail-length ahead of him. This isn't StarClan's hunting grounds, Jayfeather thought. But it isn't the Dark Forest, either. Bright light streamed through the branches of the heather bush, dappling Jayfeather's silver tabby pelt. A gentle, warm, green-leaf breeze blew, blowing the scent of heather flowers and a certain black she-cat toward him. If she isn't in either of those places, she must still be alive. Where is she? Trapped in the tunnels, maybe? A stone dropped into his belly. "If she is, we have to get her out." he said out loud. "Hollyleaf! If you're there, I need to speak with you!"
Several seconds went by. Then a voice, clear as water, answered him. "Jayfeather? Is that you?"
Excitement coursed through Jayfeather's pelt. "Hollyleaf!" Not waiting for an answer, Jayfeather bounded toward the sound of the voice. "I'm coming!" He tried to sense her feelings, but it was hard. Excitement, I think. And something else. He groped at the feeling, trying to understand it. It's what Leafpool felt for Crowfeather whenever she saw him. Love! The sudden realization hit him like a thrown beechnut. She loves me!
He raced faster and faster through the green forest. "Where are you, Hollyleaf?" he yowled.
"Over here!" came the reply.
Suddenly, the ferns shifted with movement, and Hollyleaf exploded into the clearing. Jayfeather halted.
"Hollyleaf!" he cried, pressing his nose into her fur.
"Jayfeather!" Hollyleaf licked his shoulder and rubbed against him. "How are you? Is the Clan okay?"
Panic hit him as he remembered why he came. "Where are you? In the tunnels? If you are, I'll send Firestar to rescue you." Suddenly Hollyleaf disappeared, and Jayfeather was standing on a bare strip of rock, a fierce, freezing wind blowing against him. A voice sounded behind him, and Jayfeather spun around to see who it was.
Rock.
The ancient cat spoke gravely. "The destiny of one cat is not to be messed with." he said. Jayfeather narrowed his eyes. What was that supposed to mean? "What do you mean? I must find Hollyleaf! If she's trapped in the tunnels-"
Rock interuppted him. "Hollyleaf's destiny is the tunnels."
"But can't I just try to find her? I miss her so much!" Jayfeather felt as lost as a hawk's egg in a robin's nest. "What am I supposed to do?"
"She belongs in the tunnels, Jayfeather." the old cat answered. "Hollyleaf's destiny is in them..."
Darkness clamped over Jayfeather as the ancient cat vanished.

Jayfeather awoke. Scrabbling to his paws, he raced out of the medicine den and out of the camp.
"Where are going, Jayfeather?" Cloudtail asked. Jayfeather knew he was on guarding duty.
"I'll be back later!" Jayfeather yowled to the warrior as he ran into the forest. Once he was safely away from camp, Jayfeather stopped and sniffed the air. Dovepaw's scent floated to him. What's she doing out here this early? Maybe I'd better find out. Jayfeather followed her scent toward an old fox den. I sure hope she doesn't decide to use her senses.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 8

Chapter 8 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze gasped. "What do you mean the Dark Forest is coming! They can't be! How?!" Lionblaze streamed out questions, not waiting for Jayfeather to answer them. He then said, "I've got to go." Lionblaze left Jayfeather and went to find Dovepaw. The Dark Forest is coming. Lionblaze thought to himself. That would explain why they need Ivypaw. Tigerstar is thinks he's the best and can beat any cat, but even he is not foolish enough to think that he can overthrow the clans by himself. So he's training cats inside the clans. Now the question is who is he training other than Ivypaw? Lionblaze's mind was swarming with new thoughts.
Lionblaze reached the apprentices' den and called "Dovepaw? Dovepaw, I can smell you. Can you please come here?"
Lionblaze sensed something was wrong when Dovepaw came out. She looked shocked and scared.
"Dovepaw, are you okay?" he asked.
Dovepaw just nodded.
"Follow me." Lionblaze ordered.
Dovepaw followed but Lionblaze could sense that she was using her powers.
Lionblaze led her out into the forest and sighed.
"Dovepaw I need to talk to you about something very important."
"Ok." Dovepaw answered.
"The Dark Forest is recruting cats from different clans. We fear that someone in ThunderClan is being trained too."
That seemed to snap Dovepaw out of her thoughts because she quickly ask, "Who?"
"I think that Hawkfrost-one of the Dark Forest warriors-"
"Hawkfrost?! He's part of the Dark Forest?" Dovepaw shieked.
"Yes, now keep your voice down!" Lionblaze hissed then eyed her suspiciously, "What do you know about Hawkfrost?"
"I-I heard someone talk about him." Dovepaw said uncomforatably.
"Who? Who'd you hear talking about Hawkfrost, Dovepaw?" Lionblaze asked.
"Ivypaw." Dovepaw replied sadly.
"Just as I feared! Ivypaw is being trained by the Dark Forest. She is on their side, not ours!"
"No! Ivypaw wouldn't betray me! We are sisters and best friends! All of this is the stupid prophecy's fault! If it wasn't for that Ivypaw and I would be normal sisters!" Dovepaw cried.
"I'm sorry Dovepaw, but we can't change it."Lionblaze tried to tell her.
"Don't talk to me!" Dovepaw said and began to run away.
"Wait! Dovepaw!" Lionblaze called after her.
He caught up to her and pinned her down.
"Who did you hear talking about Hawkfrost with Ivypaw?" Lionblaze asked.
"Huh?" asked Dovepaw.
"Who was Ivypaw talking to when she was talking about Hawkfrost?" Lionblaze repeated more clearly.
"I can't say." Dovepaw replied.
"Dovepaw you are going to have to! It's for the sake of all the clans!" Lionblaze said, losing his patience.
"Tigerheart. Tigerheart was the one." Dovepaw mumbled.
"Tigerheart?!" Lionblaze hissed.
"Yes now leave me alone!" Dovepaw said and ran off, but this time Lionblaze let her go.
Lionblaze turned and headed back to camp to tell Jayfeather what happened. This is bad! StarClan please don't let this happen! Do something to stop it! Lionblaze wailed up to the sky, in his head.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 7

Chapter 7 (Dovepaw's point of view)

Dovepaw stomped angrily into the empty apprentices' den to wait for Ivypaw. How dare she call my mentor a kit! Flapping her tail in anger, Dovepaw let her paws collapse under her as she curled into her warm nest and closed her eyes as a sharp wind blew through the hollow.

It was nearly sundown when Ivypaw finally came in. Dovepaw sat bolt upright as the gray tabby apprentice stalked into the den.
"Where have you been?" Dovepaw hissed.
Ivypaw curled her lip. "Just doing your duties and being confined to camp for two quarter moons."
Dovepaw leaped to her paws. "You deserve it for acting so rudely to a warrior!" she spat. "What's the matter with you!?"
Ivypaw narrowed her eyes and bolted out of the den, tail slashing the air in fury. Dovepaw stared after her sister as she padded out of the thorn tunnel. Tracking her by senses, Dovepaw tracked her all the way to the ShadowClan border. Then, sitting down, Ivypaw waited for several minutes when suddenly, Tigerheart appeared on the other side of the border. Dovepaw gasped. What is he doing with my sister? she thought, concentrating hard.
"I'm so glad you came, Ivypaw," Tigerheart said. "What is Hawkfrost teaching you now? The double twist and jump?"
But Cinderheart is Ivypaw's mentor! Besides, who is this Hawkfrost?
Ivypaw nodded. "Yep. He even said I was good at it!"
Tigerheart's eyes were challenging. "Bet you wouldn't try it out on an experienced warrior like me!"
"Bet I would!" Ivypaw howled, and for a moment Dovepaw was stunned. I haven't heard her that happy in moons! There was a sudden scuffling of fur against leaves as Tigerheart launched himself at Ivypaw, and Ivypaw seperated herself from Tigerheart. Tigerheart suddenly pricked his ears and looked off into the distance.
"Get lost!" he hissed at Ivypaw. "My border patrol has caught up with me!" With a muffled squeak, Tigerheart shoved Ivypaw into a fern.
Dovepaw watched as Rowanclaw, Dawnpelt, and Blackstar approached Tigerheart. Blackstar was the first to speak.
"Is everything okay on this side of our territory?" Blackstar asked. Tigerheart nodded quickly to his leader.
Rowanclaw sniffed the air and narrowed his eyes. "I smell ThunderClan - and on our side of the border!"
StarClan help them not find my sister! Dovepaw breathed, her heart pounding. She watched as Tigerheart sniffed. Was he going to reveal Ivypaw to them? Then she remembered something. So long as Ivypaw's on ThunderClan territory, it doesn't matter where she is.
Tigerheart spoke. "It might have just drifted on the breeze," he said falteringly. "You know, from their camp."
What does that ShadowClan cat know about our camp? Dovepaw wondered. Has Tigerheart been here before?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 6

Chapter 6 (Jayfeather's point of view)

"Thank you for telling us about the catmint, Jayfeather," Mothwing said calmly. "Now Rushpaw should be okay."
"I'm glad." Jayfeather responded curtly. He was in a hurry to get back to camp. Though Brightheart was taking care of his medicine duties while he was away, Jayfeather felt as though something important needed his attention. "I will be going now." With a sharp nod, he padded out of the den.
Brackenfur and Whitewing were anxious to be going, too, Jayfeather sensed. Although they were standing tall under the RiverClan cats' gazes, the scent of worry shot at Jayfeather like a gale.
Brackenfur was kneading the ground in front of him. "Is it time to leave?" he asked. Jayfeather nodded, and the three ThunderClan cats left the RiverClan camp and headed toward ThunderClan territory.

Jayfeather padded into camp and headed straight for the medicine den. He could sense the presence of Lionblaze as he waited for Jayfeather in the den. Worried, Jayfeather sniffed around in Lionblaze's mind. An eerie feeling crept under his pelt. Lionblaze is scared! He's terrified! What happened? Something horrible was going on. Picking up his speed, Jayfeather raced across the clearing. Suddenly he tripped over a branch from the fallen birch. "Fox dung!" he meowed, pulling the tiny splinters out with his teeth and licking his pad to clean it. Once the pain was gone, Jayfeather padded slowly into his den. "What's wrong, Lionblaze?" he asked.
"Dovepaw had a dream," Lionblaze began cautiously.
He's afraid to tell me what's going on!
Beginning to feel annoyed, Jayfeather said, "I know something's wrong. Just tell me what it is, for StarClan's sake!"
Lionblaze was a little more sure of himself now. "Well, Dovepaw dreamed that she was going hunting early in the morning, and the streams - you know, the ones we saved from the beavers - were flowing with blood, and the lake was red with it. On the edge of the lake stood four shining cats, and they looked so sad she said it nearly tore her heart out to watch them. She said they almost looked like they were crying. And then, suddenly, darkness fell over all our territories. The shining cats gasped audibly and vanished into thin air; she stood at the edge of the lake, near where they had been, and watched as our forest was swallowed into blackness. From where she was standing, Dovepaw said she could see many cats streaming from the sky, their pelts black like night." Jayfeather gasped. Dovepaw's dream could only mean one thing.
"The Dark Forest is coming!"

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 5

Chapter 5 (Lionblaze's point of view by Flametail)

Lionblaze and Dovepaw padded out to the sandy hollow and began to train. Dovepaw was against both Cinderheart and Lionblaze, while Ivypaw watched. Lionblaze backed up and focused his eyes on Dovepaw. Lionblaze saw a flash streak by him. It took him a moment to realize that Cinderheart had flown by him towards Dovepaw. He watched as Dovepaw struggled to get her off. When Dovepaw kicked and managed to get Cinderheart off he lunged at her knocking her back down and hissed, "Always be aware of other cats." Dovepaw batted at Lionblaze but he kept her down. She's putting up a good fight, but is lacking good techniques, he thought. Lionblaze got up and Cinderheart was by him. "Go behind her." Lionblaze whispered. Cinderheart did as told and went behind Dovepaw so they sort of circled her. Dovepaw turned around not knowing who to attack or what to do.
Lionblaze was the first to make a move this time. Dovepaw turned to fave him and jumped out of the way so Lionblaze collided into Cinderheart. Lionblaze got up and shook his fur and apologized to Cinderheart.
"Very smart! Good job Dovepaw!" Lionblaze praized.
Out of the corner of his eye Lionblaze saw Ivypaw move boredly.
"Hey Ivypaw, your turn. Come on, let's see what you have." He called.
"Whatch and learn" Lionblaze heard Ivypaw whisper to Dovepaw as they passed each other.
Lionblaze saw Dovepaw's fur bristle and said to her, "Dont let her get to you, you did great."
Dovepaw purred.
"Okay. Ready Ivypaw?" Cinderheart asked.
"I'm always ready." Ivypaw growled.
Lionblaze lept at her very quickly. Ivypaw dodged and lept at the back of his legs. Lionblaze fell. Now how in StarClan's name did she learn that move? Lionblaze asked himself.
He got up and saw Ivypaw knock Cinderheart down with the same move. Ivypaw turned back to him and used the move Tigerstar taught Lionblaze.
I know that move! How did she learn that, unless...No she's Dovepaw's sister. Dovepaw is one of the Three. Ivypaw wouldn't let Tigerstar use her. She can't be training with the Dark Forest! She just can't! Lionblaze thought. He continued to think about it but was snapped out of his thoughts when he hit the ground.
"A good warrior is always ready for the unexpected. Right Lionblaze?" Ivypaw asked. She was ontop of him. Lionblaze pushed her off and said, "Training's done, Dovepaw let's go."
"Why? Cause you lost? Aw. Is the big strong Lionblaze sad?" Ivypaw taunted.
"Ivypaw that is enough!" snapped Cinderheart.
Lionblaze just kept going.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 5

Chapter 5 (Dovepaw's point of view)

"Dovepaw, come back here." Lionblaze called sternly to his apprentice. Instinctively, Dovepaw froze in mid pawstep, her tail-tip twitching upsettedly.
He has no idea what I'm going through! the dove-gray apprentice thought angrily. Ivypaw is in danger somehow! She's my sister. I have to figure out what's going on. And then I find some secret tunnels that run beneath ThunderClan territory, and a cat that died in them. Slowly, Dovepaw turned to face her mentor. "What's the matter now?" she asked, her gaze fixed firmly on Lionblaze's amber eyes. Lionblaze lost his patience.
"What's the matter with you, Dovepaw?" the ginger tom exclaimed loudly. Dovepaw pinned her ears to her head. "You've been acting strange all day." Lionblaze quieted down. "Is something wrong?" He circled Dovepaw slowly. "Did something happen?"
Dovepaw took a breath, but then paused herself. I don't have to tell him about the tunnels yet, do I? They're not doing harm to any cat, and I want to find out more about Fallen Leaves and what the tunnels are for before Jayfeather and Lionblaze find out and go tramping down there. She shrugged to herself. But I guess I can tell them about the dream.
"I had a strange dream..." Dovepaw began. Lionblaze listened closely. "I dreamed that I was going hunting early in the morning, and the streams - you know, the ones we saved from the beavers - were flowing with blood, and the lake was red with it. On the edge of the lake stood four shining cats, and they looked so sad it nearly tore my heart out to watch them. They almost looked like they were crying. And then, suddenly, darkness fell over all our territories. The shining cats gasped audibly and vanished into thin air; I stood at the edge of the lake, near where they had been, and watched as our forest was swallowed into blackness. From where I was standing, I could see many cats streaming from the sky, their pelts black like night." She hunched closer to the ground as a sharp breeze blew. "Then I woke up."
Lionblaze looked like he hadn't listened at all; he was muttering to himself. Dovepaw pricked her ears toward him. "The Dark Forest-" he gasped quietly. "darkness over the forest - could it be? StarClan - they have lost us."
Dovepaw stood and paced anxiously. "What do you mean, StarClan have lost us?"
Lionblaze didn't answer. Instead, he padded toward the sandy training hollow. Dovepaw followed quickly after him. Suddenly, the forest didn't seem too inviting.

"That's right, Ivypaw! Very good." Cinderheart praised. Ivypaw heaved for breath, one paw planted firmly on Dovepaw's chest. Dovepaw wriggled under the force of her paw.
"Can I get up now, Ivypaw?"
"Sure," Ivypaw shook scraps of moss from her pelt and Dovepaw scooted quickly over to the edge of the hollow by Lionblaze.
Cinderheart padded to the center of the sandy hollow, and Lionblaze joined her. "Let's try the jump-twist." Cinderheart said, twitching her ears. "That should warm you up." Dovepaw watched as Lionblaze demostrated it to her.
He crouched at a far edge of the clearing. Cinderheart rushed at him and he leaped over her, landing with plenty of room to spare. Twisting quickly around before Cinderheart could attack, Lionblaze wrapped his paws around her front feet and flung her to the ground. Then the two sparring cats sprang apart.
"Dovepaw, you rush at Ivypaw." Lionblaze directed.
Dovepaw took her place at the edge of the clearing as Ivypaw took her place on the other side. I think I've got a trick that can defeat Ivypaw. Dovepaw rushed at her sister. Ivypaw leaped effortlessly over her and landed squarely on all four feet. Dovepaw, however, spun around as fast as she could, raced past Ivypaw before Ivypaw had a chance to flip her, and lashed out with her hind paws as she went past. Ivypaw's hind legs were kicked out from under her, and she toppled to the ground. Dovepaw turned to look at Cinderheart and Lionblaze. They were staring at her, surprise on their faces.
"Very good, Dovepaw!" Cinderheart complimented. "Neat trick. What do you think, Ivypaw?"
The gray tabby apprentice rose shakily to her paws and shook her pelt clean. She shrugged. "I guess it's okay." she said grumpily.
Dovepaw narrowed her eyes at her sister. What was wrong with Ivypaw now?

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 4

Chapter 4 (Jayfeather's point of view)

"Longtail!" Jayfeather cried. "How nice to see you!" He leaned forward curiously. "Can you see?" The brown tabby, lithe and young again, turned to look at Jayfeather. "Jayfeather! It's you!" Longtail padded toward him and smoothed a patch of fur between Jayfeather's ears. "You are quite a handsome young cat, Jayfeather."
Jayfeather's heart leaped for joy. "So you can see!" he exclaimed. "I'm so glad!""Of course," Longtail replied. He bounded away into the ferns. Jayfeather jumped in after him.
"Wait!" he yowled, pursuing Longtail through the lovely green forest where StarClan lived. "I want to talk to you!" But as much as he ran after the swift cat, Longtail always seemed to stay ahead of him. He runs like WindClan! Jayfeather thought as he sat down to catch his breath. As he sat on a tussock of grass, cleaning himself, Jayfeather heard voices over a ridge. He slipped quietly around the trees, silent as a mouse, and came quickly to the place where the voices were speaking.
Yellowfang, Longtail, Bluestar, Whitestorm, Tallstar, Lionheart, and Spottedleaf sat around a small spring of water, talking in hushed, worried voices. Jayfeather hid beneath a fern frond and listened.
"But we can't leave them to their own devices," Whitestorm was saying. "Tigerstar and Hawkfrost are already training Ivypaw." His eyes darkened. "Lionblaze was being trained before, and Jayfeather knows about the Dark Forest, but Dovepaw does not know of Tigerstar's wily abilities. Could she be targeted for training? After all, she is one of the Three."
Spottedleaf stood, her mottled fur bristling in anger. "If Dovepaw ever does go to the Dark Forest, I'll go and get her like I did with Jayfeather when he was an apprentice." She let her fur lie flat against her backbone again.
Yellowfang was the next to speak. "We must not let Tigerstar recruit anymore Clan cats. If we can stop that, I don't think we'll have any more problems."
"But remember, Yellowfang," Bluestar said. "This battle is not to be prevented. It needs to happen, for the good of all the Clans."
Yellowfang shrugged. "I'm worried, Bluestar."
"We're all worried." Feathertail's quiet voice sounded directly behind Jayfeather. She padded down the slope, and clearly Jayfeather had not been spotted. "Even in the skies I walk."
"Feathertail." Tallstar nodded to the two-sky walker. "You walk in both our skies, the Tribe of Endless Hunting's, and StarClan's."
Feathertail sat. "I have just come from Hol-" She broke off as Jayfeather came tumbling down the slope. He had recieved a playful shove from behind and was sent tumbling out of his protective hiding place. All the cats turned to look at him, but he wasn't worried. Excitement had made his fur stand on end.
"Were you about to say Hollyleaf?"
But before any of the StarClan cats could answer, Jayfeather was flung out of his dream and back into darkness.
"Jayfeather!" Whitewing was saying, nudging his pelt with a soft paw. "Wake up, Jayfeather!"
With a grunt, Jayfeather heaved himself to his paws and flattened his pelt, which felt charged with excitement. Was Hollyleaf still alive? Where was she? "Hollyleaf?"
Pity flashed from Brackenfur's pelt. "You were asleep." he said quickly and trotted off toward the WindClan border, with Jayfeather and Whitewing following after him.
But Jayfeather was thinking. If Hollyleaf is dead, is she in StarClan or the Dark Forest? Could she still be alive, trapped under the surface of the earth, in the tunnels? Jayfeather shook his head in disgust. I'd hate myself if her beautiful fur fell out like Rock's and she looked like him. In his mind, Jayfeather formed a picture of Rock: bulging, gray, sightless eyes, huge, curved claws, a rat-like tail and skin that had no fur. For a moment, Jayfeather wondered how the cat came to be down in the earth and why he had never come back up.
"Watch out for the water, Jayfeather." Whitewing's gentle voice snapped Jayfeather out of his thoughts. As he trudged through the freezing water, Jayfeather wondered,
Is Hollyleaf still alive?

Chapter 3 (Jayfeather's point of view)

Jayfeather ruffled his fur against the wind as he trotted toward the elder's den. Leaf-bare was coming, and ThunderClan wasn't strong enough to handle it, especially after the battle with ShadowClan. That battle should never have happened! Jayfeather thought anxiously. Was Ivypaw lying? For a moment he considered the thought, but then pushed it away. Dovepaw is her sister, and she wasn't lying about the beavers.
He ducked quickly into the elder's den, grateful to be out of the wind. After he checked on the sick Mousefur, Jayfeather was heading to RiverClan to show Mothwing where the catmint was.
"How are you doing?" Jayfeather asked Purdy, who was rambling on and on about a rat he'd caught. Mousefur was curled in the nest beside him, her eyes closed, supposedly asleep. The smell of whitecough reached Jayfeather's nose, making his fur bristle slightly. Mousefur was still grieving for Longtail, and now she had whitecough on top of all that. Purdy had stopped rambling and was looking at Mousefur with a worried look in his eyes.
"How is she?" Purdy asked softly, leaning down to sniff his denmate.
Jayfeather bowed his head. "Sick, Purdy." He could sense Purdy's concern, but he pushed it away. "I'll be right back with some catmint." Jayfeather said, and padded out of the den.

"I'll send Brackenfur and Whitewing to guard you," Firestar was saying. "Leaf-bare is a tense time for all four of the Clans, and I don't want to risk something happening to you."
Jayfeather opened his mouth to reply, but Firestar bent down to finish eating his vole. With a sigh, Jayfeather padded out of the den and down the rockfall that led to Firestar's den. "Brackenfur! Whitewing!" he called. Brackenfur came running from the warriors' den.
"What's the matter, Jayfeather?" he asked. Jayfeather could smell worry coming off him in powerful waves.
"Go find Whitewing and meet me by the WindClan border," Jayfeather responded. Before Brackenfur could object, he said, "Firestar's order. I'm going to RiverClan."
Brackenfur's receding pawsteps told Jayfeather he had left. I'll leave as soon as Brackenfur's scent fades. I don't want to talk the whole way to the WindClan border. He headed toward the freshkill pile. I'll eat while I'm waiting. Jayfeather sniffed the meager mound of prey and pulled out a thin shrew. The creature was so thin, Jayfeather could feel every single one of its bones. Gulping down the shrew, Jayfeather headed toward the thorn tunnel.
"See you later, Jayfeather!" Hazeltail called from the entrance of the thorn tunnel. Jayfeather sped up and raced toward the WindClan border, navigating the trees as easily as if he could see where he was headed.
As he neared the border, Jayfeather slowed to a walk and sat down under a holly bush to shelter from the wind. Feeling tired from his brisk run, Jayfeather collasped to the ground and curled up into a ball of gray fur.
Instantly he was whisked into the sky, to StarClan's hunting grounds. "Hello?" he yowled. No cat was around. "Yellowfang? Spottedleaf? Bluestar?"
Suddenly the ferns exploded with the body of a cat. Jayfeather crouched to the ground. The tom was chasing after a rabbit, his tail whisking from left to right. Then the rabbit vanished into its den, and the tom growled.
It was then that Jayfeather realized who it was.

Warriors: Omen of the Stars: Night Whispers (my version) Chapter 2

Chapter 2 (Dovepaw's point of view)

"No more catmint?" Lionblaze queried Dovepaw. "But they must! It's the beginning of leaf-bare. Every medicine cat has to have enough catmint. They wouldn't miss not having any, not during leaf-bare. Check again." The ginger tom ordered.
Dovepaw sent her senses back to the RiverClan medicine den. "I can't smell any catmint," she said, her eyes unfocused. "and Rushpaw is deathly ill with greencough." She looked back at her mentor. "We've got to do something! Rushpaw might die!"
Lionblaze flicked his tail in the direction of the ThunderClan camp. "Run back and tell Jayfeather. He'll know what to do." Even as a 'paw, Jayfeather had been the leader of the Three: always thinking of ways to solve a problem. As Dovepaw whisked away, he yelled after her, "I'll hunt for a while!"
Racing down the path toward camp, Dovepaw sent her senses ahead of her to scout the way. A patrol led by Brambleclaw was heading straight for her. How will I explain about this? Brambleclaw knew of her powers, but not the other warriors. It would be hard to explain to them. With a grunt, Dovepaw squeezed herself down a small rabbit hole. She could hear a breeze blowing her scent directly at the ThunderClan patrol, so Dovepaw needed to get as far down the hole as possible. Grasping the soil with her claws, Dovepaw squeezed out of the rabbit hole and suddenly found herself in a gigantic cave, with an undergroud river rushing through it. Neat! Dovepaw thought, staring with wide eyes at the cave and the dark river. I can't wait to tell Jayfeather and Lionblaze. But maybe I won't tell them just yet. Until I do tell them, I can explore, and it will be my own secret place! The thought excited Dovepaw. She saw many tunnels around her, tunnels that could lead anywhere. Suddenly, Dovepaw sensed movement. She turned around quickly, but nothing was there; just a tall ledge high above her head.
Dovepaw hauled herself onto the ledge to look around, but when she did, she felt something soft, like the pelt of a cat, brush against her.
"You have come, little sister," a voice whispered. Dovepaw looked around for the cat that had spoken, but she couldn't see anything else in the cave with her.
Swallowing a feeling of fear, Dovepaw spoke, her voice shaking. "Where are you? Who are you?" She stood ridged, fur bristling, in case an enemy was waiting in the shadows to attack her.
"I am Fallen Leaves." The cat rasped, and at the edge of her vision, Dovepaw thought she saw a shadow flicker briefly before vanishing. "Have no fear, little sister. I nor Rock will harm you."
"Are you a StarClan cat?" Dovepaw asked, aware that Fallen Leaves was on the ledge with her. The pelt brushed against her once again. "I can't see you."
Fallen Leaves spoke sadly. "I am not StarClan," he replied to Dovepaw.
Dovepaw stared down at the floor of the cave, far below her. "Why can't I see you, Fallen Leaves?"
"Because I am dead," Fallen Leaves said slowly.
Dovepaw cast her senses at the shadow which she thought was Fallen Leaves. Suddenly, her mind was filled with the sound of the rushing river. Fallen Leaves was running along a narrow tunnel, frantic with fear. Water was surging up the tunnel, threatening to carry away anything it could. Fallen Leaves raced down the tunnel faster and faster, until it reached a dead end. He was heaving for breath and wild with fright. Turning, he ran back down the tunnel, thrashing through the water, trying to make it back to the cave and safety before it flooded. Suddenly a huge wall of water came tumbling down the stone tunnel and toward Fallen Leaves. He was swept up by it and carried down to the cave, where he drowned fighting the water.
"I drowned." Fallen Leaves said quietly, and his scent faded away. "Goodbye, little sister. I'll wait for you."
Dovepaw jumped down to the cave floor. "Farewell, Fallen Leaves," she murmured. "I'll be back later." Waving her tail in goodbye, Dovepaw squeezed out of the cave.

"Why should we care if RiverClan has no catmint?" Jayfeather said. It was much quieter in the medicine cat den now that Briarlight had moved to the warriors' den. "It doesn't concern us."
"But Jayfeather," Dovepaw begged. "Rushpaw is deathly ill. Wouldn't you give me catmint if I was sick with greencough?"
Jayfeather looked annoyed. "Of course," he replied smartly. "You're one of the Three. I would do all I could to save you, Dovepaw." He turned back to sorting the horsetail, marigold, and oak leaves.
Just then, Leafpool came in limping. "Jayfeather, I have a thorn pad. Will you get it out, please? I would myself, but it's dug in deep."
Dovepaw sniffed at Leafpool's pad. "I could get it out, Jayfeather. Thorns are easy." While Leafpool held out her paw, Dovepaw gripped the thorn and gave it a hard tug. Leafpool flinched in pain, and the bramble thorn came out. Dovepaw padded out of the den and spat it out.
"Good job, Dovepaw," Leafpool praised when the young apprentice re-entered the medicine den. She licked the blood off her pad. "What are you speaking with Jayfeather about? Did you have another dream about the beavers?"
"No," Dovepaw shook her head. "Just about RiverClan, and how they have no more catmint."
Leafpool leaned forward. "How did you know that?" she asked.
Dovepaw felt her ears grow hot until the warrior's gaze. She had to think of something quick. "I-"
"Mothwing told me at the Moonpool," Jayfeather said quickly. Dovepaw shot him a grateful glance. "She said they were out of catmint, and they couldn't find anymore."
"She could find more by the Thunderpath," Leafpool said. "Catmint has always grown there in RiverClan, but she never knew about it." Dovepaw didn't bother to ask how she knew where catmint in RiverClan grew the best. "Jayfeather, will you go and tell Mothwing where it grows?" she asked.
Jayfeather shrugged. "I suppose I can," he said. Dovepaw twitched the tip of her tail excitedly.
"Can I go with you?" She asked. "I'm sure Lionblaze will say yes."
Leafpool rolled her eyes. "Ask him first."
"Okay!" Dovepaw bounded out of the den and toward the forest. She raced out of the thorn tunnel and leaped effortlessly over a fallen birch tree. The cold morning rays of sunlight reached through the trees to warm her back. "Lionblaze!" Dovepaw called when she sensed him nearing her. "Lionblaze!" A familiar golden pelt, dappled with sunlight, wove through the trees.
"Yes? What is it?" Lionblaze asked, his claws flexing in the soft leaf mold. "What did Jayfeather say?"
Dovepaw halted and gasped in breaths of freezing air. "He says he'll go. Can I go with him? Please?" Hope fluttered for a moment in her heart.
Lionblaze shook his head. "No, Dovepaw. I'm sorry, but you've got training to do. Firestar will send some warriors with Jayfeather." He paused for a moment, and Dovepaw stared at the ground. She had wanted to go with Jayfeather to RiverClan. Lionblaze saw her sadness and quickly said, "Let's go get Cinderheart and Ivypaw and go battle train at the sandy hollow. How does that sound?"
Dovepaw blinked at him sadly and padded toward the lake.
